We had the good fortune of connecting with Nicole Torres and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Nicole, let’s talk legacy – what do you want yours to be?
I love people and love serving people. I live for watching people thrive and find peace and joy in their lives and for helping others find gratitude and hope in their circumstances. My hope for how people will remember me is that they will have felt seen, known, loved & inspired to live a more peaceful, connected, loving life for themselves and those around them. Ultimately that they would have seen Jesus’ love in me.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I love the joy I get to bring to each and every one of my clients. What I’m most proud of is having been able to sustain my career for these past twenty years, I can honestly say my career has saved me so many times! It brings me so much fulfillment to have been able to journey through life with my clients. Celebrating so many special moments with each of them, birthdays, anniversaries, date nights, weddings, engagements, baby showers, photoshoots, as well as holding space and crying with them when life didn’t turn out as planned…. Not only that my clients have in return been there for me in that same way. I’ve been able to grow and keep my business mainly because I love what I do, and I just love people, and I love getting to hear and know their stories… As an entrepreneur their many highs and lows, but the highs definitely overshadowed the lows. The best gift you can give to people in your full presence, and I love that my job requires all of me, and that’s what my clients get! My clients challenge and inspire me to keep growing! There is never a dull moment… I have to stay on my toes with this industry, as trends and styles change, but what remains is people wanting to be loved and cared for! That never changes! And I love doing that.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’ve truly come to love living in my area, Torrance. I’m close to Redondo beach, Hermosa beach & Palos Verdes. These are such beautiful areas to spend time in! It makes you feel like you’re on vacation! So many great little hang out spots! I’m vegan, so I can tell you about all the great Vegan spots I like going to… a perfect week-long trip for me would be to head to the beach, play some volleyball, eat at Pure Vida, a delicious Italian style vegan restaurant, and or The grain cafe, a Mexican vegan spot, maybe roller skate on the strand down to Hermosa & people watch! I just love being by the ocean. It’s very therapeutic for me. Or find a beautiful trail in the Palos Verdes area! Stunning views.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
So many people have played such a big part in my life and success. several of the artists I have worked with along the way have shaped who I am, and have inspired my creativity. I have had has countless mentors, coaches, therapists. two women that stand out and have helped me love me for me and be more accepting of others, and have been very grounding to my journey, are Barbara Synofski & Linda Temple.
