We had the good fortune of connecting with Nita Flores and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nita, what’s the most important thing you’ve done for your children?
Leading by example is really easy to say. Although, to do so is where the real impact occurs! Martial Arts, Meditation, and Yoga have all been a part of my life before motherhood. The self discipline, awareness, and humility that come with the practices of all above mentioned arts and sciences are all very impactful factors in my own motherhood experience, as well as the personal development of my four children ~ shoutout!~> AJ, Kaya, Elijah, & Malena! 😉 I truly feel that choosing to share my personal practice of Yoga with my family and as a career (rather than just selfishly keeping it as my own dang self-care) allows my children to not only develop the tools for their overall total wellness but motivates them to believing they can be whatever they truly want to be. My children are now 18, 19, 21, & 25… … I am 42. Do the math… … Yes!, EXACTLY why I meditate and do yoga;)
~I wholeheartedly believe the tools of Yoga and Meditation can balance one’s total wellness.~>>>
_/|\_ The light within me greets you with balance and grace.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
As a registered/certified Yoga Teacher+Therapist, I work with individuals on all levels of Total Wellness to manage and balance their mind, body, and spirit. Specifically, as a Yoga Therapist I administer the tools of yoga to invite integrative medicine for one’s healing and body management when it may not be at ease (aka “disease”). This is where my energy work truly shines! Additionally, my yoga school – NitaFloT.R.I.B.E. provides yoga training and certifications to those looking for more in-depth studies, guided training in all aspects of yoga, and certifications. In serendipity, my personal journey in yoga and motherhood led me to where I am professionally today. Yoga & Meditation played a big role in my own self care and college-work-family balance. Upon acquiring formal training hours, I discovered both the fairly new National Yoga Alliance, and ever evolving International Association of Yoga Therapist, and I was able to proudly add my name to their registry of providers. When I began my career 20yrs ago I was driving from county to county for both continued education as well as scarce teaching opportunities. Nowadays, the many trends of yoga allow you to teach almost anywhere ~ and in any way! Respectively, Yoga Therapy now at many integrative medical institutions and university campuses for both education and training. Most of my volunteering experience within the communities of schools and miscellaneous associations have directly led to many of my opportunities in actual employment. Maintaining my own mind-body-spirit balance, keeping up with the newfound research in yoga science, and continuing my studies in Kinesiology continue to guide me through any challenges I may experience as I navigate the ‘business of yoga’. I’ve learned it’s truly best to not only keep it real, but also keep it traditional! Sometimes, I will refer to yoga therapy as ‘deep breathing’, stress management, even a blend of psychotherapy + physical therapy;) I am a believer the energies of yoga can not o only heal the body ~ but also the whole universe! Friendly reminder, the yoga (Sanskrit) word ‘prana’ means ‘life force’.
