We had the good fortune of connecting with Noah V. and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Noah, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I pursued being a creative as a career because it felt the most natural. Creating has always been a form of therapy for me. Expressing myself through music and poetry helps me identify who I truly am at all times while being able to appeal and relate to the everyday listener.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What I love about singing is everyone has their own voice and that’s what make you different. So already, I feel my voice sets me apart from others. And while some may or may not prefer my voice on the song, my songwriting ability will definitely get the job done. As far as how I got to where I am today, I can say it’s still a climb…I’m still not where I’d like to be, nor do I feel anyone can attain such a desire…I guess I just feel like I’m still behind as far as my personal goals are concerned. However, I’m definitely grateful for what I’ve learned and how I’ve grown as far as how to move and make decisions within the industry. It’s not easy. To be all the way transparent, I still work a 9-5, which is almost safe to say no true musician wants to be committed to a full-time job….but the way these bill are set up…

I’ve just learned to KEEP GOING NO MATTER WHAT! After losing my Mom, job, and Covid swiping the entire world in 2020, I had a decision to make at the lowest point in my life. Stop? Or keep going?

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Definitely Lucky Boys for the breakfast burrito! IYKYK! Gotta take you to all my schools I went to in Pasadena: Longfellow, Norma Coombs, Pasadena High. Hit Perry’s Joint for lunch…best sandwiches in the city and it’s a Black Owned Business. Then cruise down Colorado Blvd…good ol’ Old Town, maybe stop by Barney’s for a drink. Definitely hit up Neo {Neo 39 for the ones that know! lol} for some fresh exclusive kicks and high-end streetwear pieces. The hopefully something is playing at the Rose Bowl, maybe a game or concert
If you’re into bowling, rollerskating, bike riding, Pasadena is really a beautiful area to do all of the above.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The biggest shoutout and all glory goes to God. He’s given me the gift of music and I realized it at an early age. Throughout the years, I’ve received several confirmations that music is what I’m meant to do. Also, shoutout to my fraternity brother {Kappa Alpha Psi} and Music Executive, Eddie Blackmon. After graduating from Arizona State University, he hooked me up with a dual internship in LA at Motown Records and Universal Music Publishing Group. There, I learned both the label and publishing side of the industry and built solid connections.
Shoutout to my Mom who was my biggest supporter…I feel her spirit with me everyday. I sometimes forget she’s not physically here and go to call or text her. I hear her voice at times that calms me.
Shoutout to my Dad for always encouraging my dream, telling me to write everyday and that “It only takes one!”
Shoutout to my sister, Nay, who has been my best friend my entire 32 years and counting. She inspires me, trailblazing her own creative lifestyle in fashion, beauty, and modeling.
