We had the good fortune of connecting with Noel Veloz and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Noel, how do you think about risk?
Taking risk is necessary to grow. If you stay comfortable in the same spot you will not grow and settle.
It’s important to calculate the risk and write down what’s the worst can happen and what’s the best can happen. Your heart and intuition will tell you when it’s ready to jump and take that risk ! Everyone who is really successful took big risk!
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m always my 100 percent authentic self and I always see the silver lining in all situations. The Journey was never easy. People overlooked me and I slept sofa to sofa when I was on my own. I knew if I stood focus on my vision and stood persistent that good things will happen.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was visiting in NYC I would take them to :
5th Avenue : We will visit all the fashion boutiques and walk on Madison Avenue. I would take my friend to have lunch at the plaza hotel and visit the ST Patrick’s Cathedral to give thanks for life
Meatpacking District : We will visit all the stores, walk the high line and hit up the Gansevoort rooftop & Le Bain at night. Nyc nightlife is one of the best .
Also many cool art galleries in this area !
Soho : Soho is a fun place to people watch and get inspired by fashion. I would take my friend for dinner at Mercer Kitchen and hit up rooftop hotels to party and have a nice drink ! My favorite $1 pizza spot is at Canal Street !
Néw York is a magical place
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to shoutout my father story for influencing me in fashion as a child to become a designer. and for the streets of New York for influencing my love for fashion and keeping me tough in the concrete jungle !
