We had the good fortune of connecting with Nubia Stephens and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nubia, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
Numaade is nufood a nuway! Numaade has helped the community/world by raising awareness levels regarding our offerings and value as well as spreading the message that Numaade is a convenient, healthy fast food alternative. Numaade assists with creating better eating habits and providing great food and desserts that will help those who live or want to live the health, wellness & fitness lifestyle or just want to get their health issues under control by eating better. People have to eat. In our increasingly busy and chaotic world, there’s always room for a food business offering an alternative to better food choices and options that actually taste good and is good for you.

What should our readers know about your business?
Numaade has been resilient and kept the drive to keep going forward no matter what we had to face so far and I’m proud of that. Not giving up or folding, especially during covid was not an option. We at Numaade strive everyday for better, more customers, more traffic to the website www.numaade.com all while staying positive and hopeful during this time. Nothing has been easy so far, but those who know me, know I go above and beyond, don’t take no for an answer, find a solution and will make a way out of no way.

Numaade stands out because we focus on fresh quality food as well as thoughtfully sourced ingredients & items and its attention to detail in the making every item on the menu. When customers are allowed to dine in again, Numaade Café will be a fantastic place for peaceful solo visits or to gather with friends. The high ceilings and happy & positive décor give the cafe both a cozy, yet clean and modern feel. I was very purposeful in creating the type of ambiance and energy that reflects what I hope would feel like a premium experience for guests. There is also great outdoor seating.

Some of the things Numaade Café believes in is some of the following:

1) Numaade providing extraordinary customer service
2) Numaade continuing to reinvent as well as to keep looking for ways to come up with something new
3) Numaade not only admits mistakes, but willing to fix any problems which is a great way we like to build trust and stronger customer relationships

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My friends and I are big foodies, love art, tattoos, great ambiance, positive vibes and going out to awesome places. Before hitting the scene for the week, I need to look my best so I have to hit up my hairstylist Clayvon Heard to whip this hair into VIP lol. Next my makeup artist Alex Navarro will beat this face into glam status. Hey you can’t roll around Los Angeles looking basic when your bestie(s) are in town HA!

While the best friend(s) were visiting, I would take them on a food tour during the week long trip as well as seeing the city while having fun. Bombay Palace in Beverly Hills has great affordable lunch and dinner options so we’ll go there first. I love bbq so next stop would be the Wood Urban Kitchen & Sports Lounge in Inglewood. We would have to visit Smakkd Refreshers & Teas in Lakewood for some tasty addictive cold drinks and slushees.

Sunday’s are made for brunch so Saddle Peak Lodge in Malibu Canyons has not only a great view, outdoor dinning but some incredible food especially for brunch. Last but not least, I would have to tap in with TG3 Entertainment, The Social Collective LA & The Mila Group to see what’s happening for the day parties or night time functions. They give some of the best events and parties so I know we’ll have a great time at either one! Maybe end the trip with a trip to the beach, do some shopping or get a tattoo at Kat Tatt’s Enigma Tattoo in Beverly Hills. There are soo many spots to name, but these were a few of my favorite to visit, eat and drink at.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There are too many to name who deserves credit/recognition for assisting me in my success with numaade, I don’t want to offend anyone or leave anyone out (lol). For starters I have an amazing partner in life and business partner Adrian Coleman who has my back, rooted, encouraged and consistently reminded me over the years that I got this; as well as soo many awesome associates, the wonderful community, my loving family and amazing friends. My mother Maria, nephew Alex and brothers Julius, Andre & Manny who had my back through it all even when they were’t getting paid (haha). They all have went above and beyond for me. I also want to thank all who has supported and bought something from me over the years or even dropped some encouragement and resources.
