We had the good fortune of connecting with Oliver Sehulster and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Oliver, what do you attribute your success to?
Our relationships with our clients are the lifeblood for our agency. We are constantly inspired by the incredible things they put out into the world, and we dive into telling their stories with unbridled passion. We’ve worked with the majority of our clients for nearly ten years and function less like an outside agency and more like the creative arm of their marketing teams. We are fiercely loyal and turn working relationships into thriving friendships. It’s not out of the ordinary for clients to swing by our studio (pre-pandemic) for a brainstorm and beer. Because of these tightly-knit connections, we put our all into every story we tell and design we create.
Our depth of experience in the creative process allows us to walk start-ups through potentially scary processes of discovery and branding. Sometimes it’s hard for people to articulate their goals and vision for their company or envision the logo that will represent them. We take the time to get to know not only the company’s identity but also the people behind the brand. Because whether a product or service, the people behind it are the heart and soul of what’s offered.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
We believe in daring design, thoughtful storytelling and amplifying good vibes generated from human-centric brands. We believe that choosing just the right words, images and videos can shape views and create impact beyond a click or impression. Data drives our decisions, but creating comes from our core.
We believe in good people. We’re fiercely loyal and turn working relationships into thriving friendships…seriously, swing by the studio for a beer sometime. And when those good people create brands that are doing great things, we dive in with unrivaled passion.
We’ve spent over ten years honing our brand-building expertise with laser focus in the apparel and athletic industries. Through impact-driven creative and thoughtful storytelling, we grow athletic and lifestyle brands who make waves with purpose. So when businesses are ready to take flight, we’re ready to take them under our wings.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
The South Bay is our home, and we love to show off our amazing beach towns – so we would start with an easy bike ride down the Strand with beach cruisers to Old Tony’s on the Redondo Pier. The vintage bar sits on old stilts over the crashing waves and serves up fantastic Mai Tais. The place is like a seaside Regal-Beagle. It’s quite the experience at sunset. Then we would hop back on our bikes and pedal up to Hermosa Beach to shop Spyder Surf and grab a surf inspired-bite at Tower-12, our team’s go-to restaurant.
Then to the water for a quick surf session just as the sun hits the waves. South Bay waves are pretty mellow in the summer, so they can be good for any skill type. (Spyder HB rents surfboards too just in case you don’t have one in your trunk.)
Finally we’d cruise up to Manhattan Beach to MB Post for an Avila’s Heir nightcap and, of course, an order of Chef LeFevre’s famous bacon cheddar buttermilk biscuits. Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
As a boutique agency, our work is only as good as our team members. We have created a uniquely skilled, tight-knit team of great people with great talent. The credit of our success has been earned through our collective blood sweat and tears.
