We had the good fortune of connecting with Phil Wright Creative Director & Teacher and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Phil Wright, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I believe taking risks are necessary. Especially when it comes to being an entrepreneur. Every great asset that I’ve achieved has steamed from taking a risk.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
One of the elements that set me apart from the rest is that I prioritize human nature and genuine emotion from human to human. I believe self esteem encouragement and self motivation tools outweigh the technicality of dance. Although it is important, I tend to lead with inspiration. Im most proud of the students that use my teachings in their everyday lives. Not just on the dance floor. I am where I am today because of consistency and never giving up. It was definitely challenging with all the “No’s” however the few “Yes’s” trump them all. Ive also learned that patience is a major component to being successful. I just would like to world to know that I chose to pursue this art because I simply love growth and connecting with determined individuals.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take them to a steakhouse called “Catch” in Los Angeles for dinner. Possibly take a trip to Venice Beach.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The only credit I can give are the students/parents who’s trusted me with their time and education. They are the ones that has given me the opportunity to show how valuable I am to the world.
