We had the good fortune of connecting with Rachel Green and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Rachel, alright, let’s jump in with a deep one – what’s you’re definition for success?
Success! It’s such a simple concept but we all complicate it. To me success is my health (mental and physical), my happiness, my passions, and making sure that no matter what I do in life, I am doing what makes me happy. I don’t want to live my life trying to please others or conform to societies norm. We get one life to live. I want to make sure I live it to the fullest.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Nothing about business is easy. It’s a very daunting thing to do. It has high risks but can also be extremely rewarding too. Everything I’ve done this far, has been all on my own. Whether people want to look at me as someone who is successful or not, that’s up to them and they are free to think what they want. How I look at it is, every penny I’ve earned, shows how hard I’ve worked and it’s all on me. No one writes my paycheck, I write my own. One thing I can absolutely say is, I put my heart in everything I do. Good or bad days, I show up regardless to serve my clients to the best of my ability and give them exactly what they ask for.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my friend wanted a great time, I’d take them out in nature. Skip the bar scene and city chaos. Nothing lights my soul on fire more than the simplicity of the outdoors. Mother nature made beautiful sceneries and it’s a shame people would rather drink their days away rather than thrill their eyes with amazing sights. Just imagine sitting around a campfire, sipping hot chocolate and roasting marshmallows. It doesn’t get any better than that!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Everyone plays a role in your success. You have people cheering you on, people trying to keep you down and everything in between. My dad is a huge part of who I am as a woman and entrepreneur. I’ve watched everything he’s done for as long as I can remember. However, through my company, Kooky Dough Co, I’ve inherited an amazing group of ladies who have been the most amazing support system and friends to me. With a group like that, you are uplifted and inspired all the time. However, sometimes life throws curveballs at you and you outgrow some people and this allows new people to come in and take a huge spot in your life. One being my boyfriend. He’s really opened my eyes to so many aspects of life which has helped me immensly with my business and he’s always trying to give me new ideas or solve problems I didn’t even know I had. Another person who has helped me, is one of my brothers friends, who owns his own business. He went out of his way to give me advice and pointers on what would help me achieve my goals. My brother has also helped me. By being the social butterfly that he is, he get’s my name out to people who can give me great opportunities. All in all everyone plays a role in your life and business.
