We had the good fortune of connecting with Racquel Honore and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Racquel, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind my success is I combine my talents and represent my brand authentically. I am not only a vintage collector and curator, I’m a jewelry designer and a stylist. I merge these talents together to create my own unique style and brand. This really resonates with people. It helps that I am very involved in the brand and actually make friends with a lot of my customers.  I’m a real brand a real designer,

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My art is jewelry design and creative curation of vintage clothing. For sure what sets me apart in the vintage world is that I am designer and stylist. I bring those artistic skills to my business in a way that merges the old and new seamlessly so it’s very modern take on vintage. And vice versa in the jewelry world I am not just a jeweler but more of a creative brand merging the old with the new and jewelry with vintage. I’m most excited about creating new photoshoots and visuals for my company. I feel like it brings the brand to life and really inspires my customers. I got to where I am by a lot of hard and work putting myself out there, doing shows and honestly being persistent and consistent. Working with fashion stylists in my earlier years really got me a lot of press and exposure and that was a big boost for my company. I’ve gone through fluxes and flows because I am multi talented (including being and actress!) and there have been times when I didn’t give the same attention to the business as it requires. What I’ve learned is that I have to do things my way and not to compare myself to other companies or brands. I’d like everyone to know that ANKH It’s truly one of my life’s passions and they can look forward to more creative projects and collections from me in the near future. I’d also like to let people know how much I appreciate them and their support 🙂

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Some of the best things to do here are in nature and experiencing the diverse culture of Los Angeles and surrounding areas. I’d pick a few different neighborhoods to show them like Silver Lake and Los Feliz. In Silver Lake, we would stop by cool shops and restaurants. Spellbound Sky for crystals, candles and all things mystical and then grab a happy hour at Kombu sushi. In Los Feliz I’d take them to Griffith Park for a nice hike and some nature and then up to the observatory for the views.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’m going to shout out my daughter June Jolie. She’s been really supportive and involved in my brand from day one. June is my model and muse. In addition to being the main model for my company, she has been helping me with marketing decisions (she’s a marketing major) and has been there to bounce around creative ideas with.
