We had the good fortune of connecting with Rae Foster and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rae, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
With starting my own business the thought process came from me losing my confidence back 2019. I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and lost all my confidence. I continued to ask myself, what was my purpose on this earth? When I finally gotten my answer it was to make people feel great about themselves and look good wearing their Fierce Fedora Hat!

I continue to research the different styles of hats and of course, I gotten some for myself. I’m into fashion and have shown on my social media, the different ways to wear Fedora Hats. I believe that you wear the hat, the hat doesn’t wear you!

Furthermore, coming up with the business name, took me about 2 months. I ended up naming my business “Fierce” because I feel what I’ve been through fits perfectly with the name.

In the mist of being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. I had to learn how to walk all over again, regain my confidence back, while rising my daughter. So, the name “Fierce” actually stuck out to me. Which indicates that, I’m always looking to bettering myself and not allowing anything to stop me or get in my way.

Fierce Fedora has placed smiles on a numerous of individual faces and I’m happy to say it makes me feel good and warm my heart seeing everyone happy and showing off their confidence too!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Outside from my business, I also have a full time job. I’m currently working in social services. Assisting low income families to staying off the streets. My job is something I love due to the fact I’m giving back to the community. When I received my BA in Sociology at California State of Dominguez Hills. I knew my passion was to, help those in need. Seeing smiles on my clients face, when seeing them in person just let’s me know I’m doing an awesome job.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my bestfriend was in town visiting, Our itinerary will consist of Sunday Brunch, Shopping, Spa dates and a boat ride just to relax. One of the food places would be Roscoes, living in Los Angeles Roscoes is the go to location. Shopping at a local outlet and a spa date at Burke Williams, after the spa a quick nap before our dinner date. Eating on some good steak, lobsters mac and cheese my mouth watering now at one of my favorite restaurants Mastro in Orange County. At my age a full day itinerary have you sleeping in the next day. Knowing my friends are very spontaneous a quick trip to Las Vegas would most likely be added to the itinerary as well. Haha

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to give a shout out to my daughter. It was days, I wanted to give up but she helped me through it. I knew I had to stay strong for her too. When I talked to her regarding me looking into starting my own hat business. She was so excited about it. Now she’s starting her photography business. Good thing I have a photographer who can take pictures of my product and of course of me too.
