Meet Rebekah Van Natta | Entrepreneur & Author

We had the good fortune of connecting with Rebekah Van Natta and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Rebekah, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
I have a few businesses that I’ve started and co-started in the last couple of years and they all have a rooted foundation in “giving back” to the community. I started a nonprofit with met twin sister, Rachel late last year called The Stride Project. We are a 501(c)(3) helping cancer patients and their families financially through different fitness challenges online. It’s a slow start, but we were able to raise $10,000 for a single family in need in just 3 months with 2 fitness challenges. We look forward to helping our next family soon! I also co-started our newest company with my husband, Andy the company is called Lord and Armor which at the moment is an online apparel company but also published my first book “The Growing Christian: Two Paths of the Christian Belief”. We are just getting going on this, but are very excited about sharing our faith and giving people hope through the love of Jesus. We are wanting to give a percent of our profits to nonprofits within the USA. Another company my husband and I are working on, this one has been a bit of a longer process and is currently not out yet, is a Water Company called Savior Water. Savior water is water in a can, but the message and our hope is to spread the light and love of Jesus. Again, our concept is to “tithe” and give 10% of our profits to various nonprofits within the USA. Alongside these companies, I have had a Personal Training and Reflexology business for the last 8 years called RVNFIT. I have a private training studio in Santa Clarita and feel so blessed to be able to help people transform and change their lives through strengthening their bodies and minds, and ultimately just living a healthier lifestyle. I also work as a Real Estate Agent under my husbands brokerage Entity Mortgage and Realty. We started this company to also help give back to our clients. Buying a house is a huge financial endeavor, and these last few years have been hard for everyone. Having our Brokerage allows us the flexibility to give back and help those who are looking to purchase, sell, or need help financing. Because it’s our company, we don’t have to be greedy, there’s plenty of money to go around. We ultimately want our clients to buy the house of their dreams without all the extra stress, we are hand holders, and are always available to our clients no matter what day or what time! There’s a lot going on as you can see, but I feel all of our businesses point to one thing, loving and serving others.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I think the biggest thing I’m proud of is taking risks. It’s not easy to go out and do the things you feel compelled to do with no safety net. I’ve been doing it for so long now, I’ve stopped questioning the “what ifs?”. My first experience of going out on my own was when I started RVNFIT. Building that business truly set me up for an Entrepreneurial life, one I never expected, and one that has opened a lot of doors to amazing opportunities. I learned very early on, that what I had to offer others had value and it was up to me to believe in that, once I did, success followed! Most people never get past a certain point or career in their lives, and many look back over the years and wish they had done their one crazy idea. I didn’t want to live my life afraid or content, so I had to make a choice. I choose to trust God in the process over myself. I feel God used the last 10 years to build my character and my trust in Him. There’s always challenges, and tough times but instead of worrying I just started praising Him and thanking Him. Trust me, it helps move your day along with a more pleasant and peaceful heart. Starting my own business at 25 and now here I am at 35 I’ve learned that you have to be authentic and real with yourself. The world will tell you you’re crazy, it will never happen, just wait, that’s too risky, but all of that is just noise. Be confident in your gifts, your talents, your dreams, the world is jealous, angry, and bitter. Rise above the noise, and ground yourself in the truth. My truth is knowing that Jesus wants good and great things for me, and I have to trust Him above what the world tells me!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love Santa Clarita it’s cozy and friendly. I like getting my visitors out on the amazing biking trails either for a run or a bike ride. We have over 80 miles of dedicated biking and running trails and they are just the best! I’d probably take them to the beach, most likely Ventura or Santa Barbara since they’re pretty close. There’s a few nice hikes down the street I would probably encourage them to go on with me. I throughly enjoy being low key and just hanging, LA isn’t really my scene but if my family or friends want to go down to LA there are a lot of great restaurants to eat at. One of our old favorite hang spots is in North Hollywood and also Burbank at the Brews Brothers. They’re friends of ours and they have the best beer and food, both locations are a little different but they’re both amazing. Schooners is a local hang which is 1/2 mile down the street from us and their food and atmosphere are great! Newhall has a fun little street called Main Street, there’s restaurants and a local Musical Theatre we love going to. They also have free events in the summer on the first Thursday of the month, it’s themed and there’s live music and plenty of food, usually family friendly, that’s always fun. Sunday’s we go to church at The Bridge at 10am, Pastor Dave is the best! Santa Clarita in general seems to always have something going on, so it’s easy to get out and hang for a bit without feeling overwhelmed!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Shout out to my Husband! I’m naturally a go getter, I have been all my life. I’m motivated, and I’m always willing to learn and be challenged. When I met my husband Andy, he saw that in me and he brought even more of that out of me! That’s the way it should be right? You bring out the best in each other, and he did. Andy is the idea man! He’s smart, he’s authentic, he’s curious, and he thinks outside of the box. He taught me to be courageous and really to just be myself. He liked my crazy ideas, and always encouraged me to go after them. He’s never told me not do something that was in my heart, in fact he would challenge it. There had been many times I would doubt myself or question my dreams, but he would push me till I followed through with it and do it. I’ve never met anyone like him. It’s so much fun to be able to do life and work with him. We’re both crazy, in the best of ways and we make a really good team. We have different strengths and weaknesses so we both are able to strive forward even on the worst of days, we definitely balance each other out. Watching Andy think and speak is like a daily pep talk and one that keeps me motivated to keep going. He’s definitely the fire behind a lot of what I have accomplished, and the things that have yet to come. He’s my best friend, my lover, my teacher, my cheerleader, my encourager, and my business partner. I love him so much!!
