We had the good fortune of connecting with Riki Barker and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Riki, what do you attribute your success to?
I think it has been our creativity, the reaction time to each need and that we are always looking for new technologies to apply to our clients.

What should our readers know about your business?
Something that differentiates us is our creativity and the individual talent of each one of the members of my team. we are always on the lookout for more. It has been 6 years since I started my first business, it has not been an easy road at all, but definitely the best decision I have made. there is a lot of sacrifice, a lot of frustration, a lot of problems and uncertainty, but the reward is a lot.

It has always been more the good times, but of course we have also been through many very bad ones. every time we have a bad streak, we have discovered that the only solution is to work harder and reinvent ourselves each time.

I have learned that you do not always need a lot of money to start a business, you can start with what you have, work hard and you will see how, little by little, your business will grow.

I am my own boss, since I am 24 years old and in the last 6 years, I have had 4 businesses

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
LA has everything for every taste. So, if my friend was visiting for a week this is how our week would go. Every trip to LA has to have a theme park day. So, depending on my friends taste we would spend a whole day visiting either Disneyland or Universal studios, enjoy some rides, junk food and entertainment. Something chill has to happen next day so I would make it a beach day. Arrive at Santa Monica and walk all the way to Venice beach. Get some sun, some drinks and take awesome pictures. At night we would drive a bit to keep with the beach theme to Dockweiler beach. Make a bonfire, roast some marshmallows and listen to good music. You gotta have a touristy day, go to the walk of fame where the “El Capitan” “Dolby” and “Chinese” theatre are and get some souvenirs for the family. That day we would take the afternoon off to rest because we need some fancy in our trip. Dress well drive through Rodeo Drive and do some shopping, ending the night in Catch LA, one of the fanciest and IT places in LA. Finally, LA has a lot of places you can go hiking. My favorite is climb to Wisdom Tree, take a left at the top ending at the Hollywood sign. Climb down and have a picnic in Griffith Park, visit the observatory and after all this exercise we would’ve earned ourselves some In’n’out double doubles with animal style fries. LA is so diverse that there’s everything for everyone.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
definitely a special mention goes to my business partner, Samuel Fematt; in him, I found that complement for friendship and all the business ideas we have had. Also, there are 3 more people who have been my inspiration and mentors in entrepreneurship and business, they are Memo Basauri, Hector Cruzado and Rogelio Torres.
