Meet Sasha Sheldon | Healer, Spiritual Guide & Ceremonial Embodiment Photographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Sasha Sheldon and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sasha, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Starting my own healing business felt like a no brainer to me. After all the challenges and trauma I had accumulated throughout my life, and the amount of healing I did in such a short amount of time inspired me to do that for others, and be the same kind of support I received. But also to be the support I wish I had as a child. To help others heal their inner child, ancestral trauma, toxic relationships and connection to their bodies and sensuality. I find most healers and coaches end up using the same modalities and tools that helped them transform their lives. I did just that. Though, I feel I was guided through it and to this work by my higher self and spirit guides, even long before I understood what any of that meant. They had been trying to get my attention for some time. I practice what I preach, and share the knowledge and wisdom with others as best I can.
My late husband who took his own life was also part of the inspiration. My experience of his suicide and the grief that came along with it, truly catapulted me into a deep healing process and intense studying of healing modalities and the universe. His death and life stands for so many things for so many people, including myself. It was so clear after his death, that a big part of my purpose was to help others once I got myself onto the other side of grief. No one should feel alone in this world, or that there is no hope.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I feel what sets me apart, is that I created a way of morphing my Akashic and Shamanic practice together in a way that gives others guided support from their spirit team, while also being able to facilitate deep emotional, spiritual and energetic healing.
Though, I’m currently most proud of and excited about how I blended my healing practice with photography. My embodied ceremonial portrait sessions is possibly my favorite offering right now. It took a couple years of my diligent spirit guides telling me to stop separating the two, and that they are one and the same. One day back in 2019 it finally clicked when I was doing a test shoot with a model. Once the light bulb got turned on, I dove right in and created the offering in early 2020. The intention with these sessions is to help women own their gifts and sensual power. So that they can confidently share their light with the world, and come out of hiding. In these ceremonial portrait sessions, they will be gently guided to connect deeply within themselves as we capture images that express and reveal their authentic self.
I got to where I’m at by believing in the work, and by all of the amazing support I’ve had from friends and teachers who have loved and supported me, and who continue to do so. Which really goes a long way when I have those moments, as we all do, where the doubt creeps in.
There have been many challenges and continue to be while being an entrepreneur. Each time a shift is needing to occur, and I’m being called to let go and step into the unknown, isn’t always comfortable and can feel like a challenge at times. Especially if there is a zone of comfortablity Or, when I get a download for what I believe is a beautiful and transformational offering, but when I put it out into the world it falls flat. But that is the whole point of this work. I need to keep going outside my comfort zone, keep trying, be willing to continue to fail, and gather evidence. To remember that it isn’t personal. There are many cycles of death and re-birth within business, as there is with life in general. Most of the time one mirrors and informs the other. In particular when I have consciously created a business that revolves around and is rooted in healing, evolution, and transformation. Therefore, I’m constantly needing to heal and transform or transmute things within myself so that I can be of better service, and carve out new pathways. While also creating space to come up for air, enjoy life and carve out the time for integration. I have to walk my talk and lead by example. I feel at a soul level I have strength and courage within me that I can’t explain, but I believe those parts of me are what really help me continue to keep moving forward.
I continue to learn more ways of healing myself and others from my guides, but also to honor the ebbs and flow of my energy, my cyclical nature as a female, and the difference between desire and capacity; especially as being a Projector in Human Design. I’m always in pursuit in finding new structures and systems that work for me, and learning as much as possible of the things that light me up. Everyone has a unique way of working and running their business or brand, but I continue to find that being a Projector in a Generator world requires a lot of boundaries and de-conditioning from the way most of the world does things.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If someone was coming to visit me for a week in Los Angeles, I feel a lot of it would revolve around good food and my favorite spots in nature. I love sharing the beach. I’d go to Redondo or Hermosa Beach where I grew up, or going to different beaches in Malibu. Each have their own special vibes and offer very different experiences and backdrops. If in Redondo or Hermosa, I’d love to grab brunch at Marthas, then lunch or dinner at Green Temple. Green Temples savory burrito has a sauce on top that dreams are made of.
I eat a mostly plant based diet, so I would hit up Cena Vegan for some of the best giant burritos. If over in highland park, I would try and squeeze in Wolfies for a spicy “chicken” sandwich (which is loved by those who eat real chicken), Donut Friend for all the donuts, and Joy on York for some yummy Taiwanese. While still in Highland Park, also grab some Italian at Hippo. Then, drive over for Chinese at any of Din Tai Fung for dumplings and side dishes to share.
If craving pizza, I can never go wrong with Masa’s Chicago deep dish in Echo Park. But go very hungry and wear some comfy clothes. Plan for it to take some time, but it is worth every minute. If in Pasadena, go to Tomatoe Pie (has other locations) for NY style, and Luggage Room for specialty pizza. Then, go to Union for Italian.
If desiring some fresh farm to table dishes to share, I would go to Botanica in Silverlake. While over in Silverlake, I’d also go enjoy some Indian at India’s Restaurant for their buffet special.
Then, I’d want to plan a trip to Joshua Tree and Idyllwild. Both have their own unique expansive healing energy, beautiful hikes, and plenty of photo opportunities.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There are so many people along my healing journey and education as a healer that have been life changing, and continue to be beacons of light, love and support in my life.
