We had the good fortune of connecting with Savannah Foster and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Savannah, we’d love to hear about a book that’s had an impact on you.
One of my favorite books that I’ve read recently is Everything is Figureoutable by Marie Forleo. This book was particularly impactful because it reverberates the major themes which guide me in my career. I often compare my job to that of Olivia Pope in Scandal. Each day brings new challenges, and you just have to figure it out through sheer grit, determination and creative problem solving. I enjoy tackling each new challenge because in the end, I know I’ll figure it out.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a NFL Agent and Vice President of Client Relations at one of the largest NFL representation agencies in the world- Athletes First. As a woman in a largely male-dominated industry, I’m thankful for the leadership and upper management at Athletes First for believing in me and supporting me as I created a department built solely for providing client services at the very highest level, day in and day out. I’ve been a part of the firm since 2008, and while it hasn’t always been easy, I’m appreciative of all the opportunities I’ve been given over the years, and I now consider myself to be a trailblazer for women in football representation. I started working at Athletes First as a receptionist and assistant to the president. Over the years, I’ve contributed to every department in the firm, so I thoroughly understand our company, and business, from the ground up. Through learning the nuances of the sports representation industry from a variety of different lenses, I’m thoroughly equipped to lead our incredibly talented Client Relations team and serve on the agency’s management group. I’m also a NFLPA Certified Contract Advior and represent player clients with their team contract negotiations and professional endeavors. Each of these roles and responsibilities are greatly important to me and set me apart from others due to the vast array of experiences at various levels in the industry. While all of this combines to create, in my opinion, a solid resume, what cannot be seen from my professional experiences is what truly makes me unique- my drive and ability to relate to people. My work ethic is unmatched. and I take great pride in working 24/7 to ensure that the needs of our clients are not only met, but exceeded with exceptional response time and follow-through. I want our clients to know, without a doubt, that their requests will be met with the very highest level of attention, quality and care.
Any great local spots you’d like to shoutout?
Ever since I moved to Orange County 12 years ago, I’ve been obsessed with Javier’s. I can’t count how many girls’ nights, date nights, birthdays and happy hours I’ve spent at Javier’s (both Crystal Cove and Irvine Spectrum), enjoying good company over great food and margaritas. In addition to Javier’s, I also really enjoy spending time in Laguna Beach. Surf and Sand, Skyloft, Carmelita’s and Nick’s are some of my favorite places to visit in Laguna, I also love the spas at Pelican Hill and Monarch Beach if I want to splurge a little bit!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I am the Vice President of Client Relations at Athletes First, and I’m so honored to be surrounded by such an incredible team of dynamic women who compose our Client Relations Department. In fact, in our weekly meetings, we each give a “Shout Out” of the week to someone who has impacted us in some way, so we are incredibly familiar with the exercise of taking a moment to reflect on those who have helped us get to where we are in all areas of life. I am so grateful to Danielle, Emily, Casey and Abigail for their hard work and determination to bring the highest level of service to our high profile NFL clients, and I realize it is rare to find a group who all share in the same vision. I do not take that for granted and am humbled to lead such a strong department. We are committed to excellence, and I’m excited to see what’s in store for the future.
