We had the good fortune of connecting with Selina Thomas and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Selina, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind 6 Degrees HR is the constant commitment to engaging with current and potential clients. The Covid 19 crisis proved that that engagement prior to the pandemic was what made the difference in setting my brand apart. I deliberately engaged in quick 30 second HR tips initially daily to develop the brands presence on all social media platforms which created brand recognition. 6 Degrees became a trusted and familiar brand that is now poised to franchise nationally as the go to Human Resource firm to support small to medium sizes companies.

Another factor for the success of the brand is that 6 Degrees purposely uses current events and headlines to educate viewers that HR is essential in the workplace. A recent headline used was that employers can not mandate employees to be vaccinated to return to work.

6 Degrees as a name brand was also deliberate in that it is a global concept that all people are connected by only 6 people on the planet. The brand name is a huge part of the success of the brand. Business owners immediately connect with the name.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
6 Degrees provides outsourced Human Resource support to small to medium size companies. The country depends on small businesses for the country’s economy. Human Resources is an essential component of a company providing infrastructure and compliance to companies as it relates to employee matters. As a brand we are different and unique because of the niche and specialty required to support small businesses. I am proud that 6 Degrees is innovative in working with small business owners and their employees. The company got to this level because of the day to day consistency and presence on social media and in the community. Consistency is not easy but was necessary to become a brand that is set apart from other HR firms. Hard work and dedication in the early years paid off for 6 Degrees when the pandemic struck. Our brand presence allowed 6 Degrees to be on the forefront of the Covid 19 crisis. 6 Degrees being know as an engaging, innovative company places us an industry leader.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Now that the community is slowly opening up I would take a best friend to the outdoor dining in my community with is in our local Westfield plaza mall. I would start at our local Wakano restaurant and have a nice glass of wine and calamari. I would then schedule a trip to a winery nearby early on Saturday to take in the views and good food. Agua Dulce winery is a location just outside of Santa Clarita but makes you feel like you are in a far of Spanish vineyard.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
