We had the good fortune of connecting with Raquel Pomplun and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Raquel, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind my success is never stopping. I see each achievement as a stepping stone to the next goal. I’m always on the move. I don’t believe in reaching a maximum and that, just like energy, success is transferable. I also believe that there’s no cap! There’s always something new you can create or achieve, even, sometimes, discover! It’s easy to get complacent when you keep “winning,” but to me, it’s not about winning or loosing, it’s about experiencing and learning. At the end of the day, that’s all we get to take to the grave: experiences, aka, memories. So in the pursuit of new experiences and new memories, you keep going, you keep learning, you keep growing, you keep accomplishing. So never stop, don’t get discouraged and always keep going and you will see more success in your path. 💪🏽

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
It all started ten years ago when I was looking for a way to pay for college. I was in community college majoring in biochemistry in the process of transferring to a four year college for my bachelors. I have had experience in modeling growing up, and just being an entertainer came easy to me, but I also loved my science. A coworker suggested I would go back to modeling as a means to pay for college. And so I did! Long story short, getting back into the scene led one thing to another and next thing I know I was acting in a movie with Michael Douglas, Kevin Klein, Robert De Niro and Morgan Freeman (“Last Vegas”). Later on I got into a stand up comedy class as a means to beat my always hunting audition nerves and discovered how much I loved stand up (whether I am good or not, that’s another story 🤪). I now can say that I have a good resume in the industry and I am looking forward to growing it more.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Omg! One week to show my favorite spots in LA? I would overwhelmed them!

Ok, favorite restaurants: Sugar Taco, Wokano, Sushi Stop, Frankie’s (best Italian ever), El Taco Llama (but the best one is the one on Osborne Street), King Taco, Fat Sal’s and Trejo’s Tacos. I’m sure I’m missing some, but these are a given.

Favorite places to visit: I would take them to the park where you can take a really good photo in front of the Hollywood sign Lake Hollywood Park, the observatory, Santa Monica Pier and the Promenade, Malibu Pier, Hollywood Blvd (of course), Venice (more specifically the Venice Canals), The Mosaic Tile House in Venice, Runyon, Bronson Caves, Castaic Lake in Santa Clarita, the Self Realization Fellowship Lake Shrine, Rodeo Drive, and of course, to as many comedy clubs as possible (can’t go wrong with any).

And I believe if I cover all that in a week, they would be exhausted 😂

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Yes! Neferteri Plessy, she is a fellow model and founder of the non-profit “Single Mom’s Planet” which focuses on helping single moms and dads to get the help and guidance to succeed despite doing the parenting job alone (which that alone, is super hard). She’s always been the guidance and cheerleader in my profesional as well as my personal life. She is a role model both as a business person as well as a mom and woman!
