We had the good fortune of connecting with Seth Martino and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Seth, as a parent, what have you done for you children that you feel has had the most significant impact?
I think the most important impact I will have on my children is to teach them that it’s ok to challenge authority. It’s ok to challenge the status quo. It’s ok to be different and do things out of order and work hard to live outside of societal norms. Above all else, before you have kids yourself, make sure you have worked on yourself so you can give them all the love and attention they deserve.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Who I am and what I do has changed over time. I am a Big & Tall model, but I also create Youtube content. I stream on Twitch. I film and edit videos. I’m a Jack of so many things that now I’m more of a personality than a model alone.

I’m excited about the future. I am so excited about the growth of the plus clothing industry and the new opportunities that will be coming our way. It’s going to be a wild ride when the world starts opening up again.

I got to where I am by having an unshakable belief in myself. I bury myself in positive content from creators like Gary Vee and John Henry and Casey Neistat and they all teach you to believe when nobody else does. I just keep pushing forward because I know that eventually I will get to where I’m going.

I just want people to understand something that I learned from Gary Vee. It’s ok to not know what you want to be when you grow up. It’s ok to not have life figured out at 30. Go out and taste things. If you think you could be good at something, try it out. Take classes, join groups, get out there and give it a go. If it doesn’t work out that’s ok. You are gaining valuable skillsets along the way that will eventually come in handy when your calling comes.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
There’s a lot of great things to do in Los Angeles. I have some rules when it comes to traveling. I don’t like to eat anywhere I can eat at home so no fast food or anything like that, and I usually have people locally tell me where to go if I don’t already have a plan in place, especially because I don’t want to see touristy stuff. Depending on what my friend wanted to do I would probably suggest places like BAO dim sum house, Griffith observatory for a nice hike and a view of the Hollywood sign, walking around Hollywood in the evening is cool for shopping and people watching. Venice or Santa Monica beach. LACMA is touristy but the light posts are great for the gram. Hopefully catch a Dodger, Kings, or Laker game depending on the season. I love the Bradbury building and I have been wanting to do a photoshoot there, so maybe we stop there. There are just so many things to do. I would make it an adventure and just fly by the seat of our pants. Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I don’t know that I have succeeded or achieved any kind of success but I am in pursuit of some big dreams and goals. I have a lot of people to thank, but I don’t think anyone deserves more credit than my wife. She is a huge support system and I would not be who I am today without her. Beyond her I would like to show love to so many other Big & Tall models who have helped. Dghramm, Rob, Ady, Kavah, Ralphie, TeeJ, Maddy, Marcy, Tyler, Frankie, the list goes on and on. You all know who you are.
