We had the good fortune of connecting with shae briannah and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi shae, career-wise, where do you want to be in the end?
The end goal is financial freedom for my family. The overall goal is to have established multiple avenues of income that generate a significant amount of income properly to both support my family and all business expenses
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I express my art through color & structure. As a cosmetologist I first was introduced to the concept while in college attending a hair show. The shapes, definition and textures drew me in. I am where I am today by favor and by sewing good seed on fertile soul. It hasn’t been easy. In the line of service you will always have someone who isn’t satisfied. Even though it doesn’t happen often (and I can count on one hand the complaints in the last 7 years) it has happened enough for me to be affected by it and it alter my drive. My lessons have always been be skilled, be precise and don’t take things in business personally. I have had many struggles and as a single mother and a people pleaser it has always been my intent to make sure my client or customer is beyond satisfied. This comes with experience and in a world where people are short on time you have to have thick skin. I want to leave a pleasant memory, a genuine experience and I am affirmed of that by feedback
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love soul food so Stevie’s on pico, or my favorite grilled franchise off slauson is at my top list. I enjoy supporting local businesses. I’m really a homebody but the beach is a must and depending on the time of year i love to visit the botanical gardens by uscla then maybe pick up Diddy Riese cookies or head downtown and watch an outdoor movie and grab a bite at the food trucks. I love comedy shows or live music.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Without hesitation i have to give all honor to the Savior of my soul for gifting me and instilling in me patience and the drive for the journey. I also have to thank the women in my life starting with my mom for all the encouragement, constructive criticism and for the times they let me experiment with their beauty lol
