We had the good fortune of connecting with Stephanie Spirovski and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Stephanie, how does your business help the community?

House of Rituals is all about self-care and the magic of slowing down in order to fully love and be present with ourselves. Our intention is to remind our community of Mother Nature’s healing powers and give them the confidence to use our earth’s gifts on a daily basis. Through scent, taste, touch, and education we want to teach our neighbors and loved ones how to heal on a deeper level. If we all slowed down a bit more and tuned into our bodies I believe we’d all be a bit nicer to ourselves, each other and to our beloved Mother Earth.

We’re also very careful about where our ingredients are coming from. The essential oils we use are co-impact sourced and sustainable. The sage we use comes from a private farm in southern California and we’re even growing some of our own herbs right here in Long Beach.

As a way to stay proactive and give back to the planet and our neighbors, we offer 10% off to anyone who wants to refill their glass jars with more of our products! You’re also welcome to bring in your own jars for loose leaf tea and receive 10% off!

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?

House of Rituals was created over the pandemic, working from home and dealing with less traffic gave me room to slow down. I found myself spinning with more inspiration to share the things I’ve learned over the years. I was a yoga instructor for 8 years, a dancer for longer, an esthetician that graduated from Aveda, and more recently a wellness content creator for Rainbeau Mars Lifestyles. I was able to be like a sponge these last two years working for a wellness expert absorbing every bit of information I could. I’ve dabbled in a lot of different spectrums of wellness, at times felt lost but now more than ever I realize all those different roads I had taken were leading me to something very special. A place to share my love for self-care and give people a space to slow down, love, and nurture themselves a little bit deeper.

House of Rituals is proud to offer small batch made organic apothecary products + custom tea blends designed to feed the soul and nurture the body. Not only do we create our own well-researched + rooted in love products but we also customize plant medicine to your specific needs. Having eczema? Anxiety? Migraines? We are here to help you find relief! We truly believe mother nature has everything in it we need to heal and that everyday acts of self-care can be turned into radical expressions of self-love.

Another thing that makes us unique is that we are located in The Hangout on 4th St in Long Beach on the famous retro row. The Hangout is an amazing 4,000 square ft. brick building hosting multiple vendors under the creative direction of Melissa Carpenter. So, not only can you fulfill your apothecary needs from us but there’s a plant store, bookshop and amazing vintage finds throughout the space. It’s your everything store and a new take on the retail experience!

Currently, I’m also enrolled in a 10-week herbal healing course with Author and Master Herbalist Brigitte Mars and I can’t wait to see what teachings from the course weave their way into House of Rituals.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

I love hosting people at my place and being the tour guide. I’m located in Long Beach so there are a few definites I’d have to take them to in this area. First of all Retro Row on 4th St. for a chai at Portfolios and lunch at Lola’s plus shopping! In the evening we’d do drinks at Bamboo Club and grab a take-out pizza from Thai Curry Pizza. Have you had pizza with curry sauce on it? It will change your life! I’m also a lover of nature so we’d drive up the coast to Topanga, hike and/or meander around the Shakespeare Theatre, and take in the grooviness that is Topanga. If they are here on a Sunday we are definitely hitting up the Long Beach Flea Market as well as The Melrose Trading Post. You haven’t visited Southern California unless you’ve spent a Sunday walking around one of our many treasure-filled flea markets.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I am a women’s woman and I have been blessed with the support of many women in my life. To my circle of family & friends near and far I LOVE YOU! Specifically, I would like to shoutout Melissa Carpenter owner of The Hangout in Long Beach who has been my business mentor and given me the platform to grow and share my expression of self-care. Without her, I would not have the courage or inspiration it takes to bring House of Rituals to the next level. The love and support of her and the other women vendors at The Hangout- Tanya Bartels (Golden Garden) & Johanna Belfer (Bel Canto Books) have been a gift for a new entrepreneur like myself and I hold deep gratitude for these talented women! I’d also like to give a shoutout to Rainbeau Mars, my wellness mentor of the last two years. Her vast knowledge of plant medicine and passion for the planet has sparked a fire within me and I give her internal thanks for sharing that with me.
