We had the good fortune of connecting with Taylor Chung and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Taylor, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
I think the most important factor behind my success is authenticity and relatability.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I launched the Wenzday project in 2018 after graduating from Icon Collective College of Music in Burbank, CA. My project is focused around topics such as love, breakups, heartbreak, and feminism. I pull all of my inspiration from life experiences and knew very early on that I wanted to write relatable music specifically for a female audience. I also pair all my music with visual components. Writing and directing is a passion of mine so I try to be as conceptual as possible with all my visual components whether for music videos or my live performances. Despite the COVDI lock down in 2020, I was still fortunate to have the opportunity to do livestream from some incredible venues and locations such as on the lake in Lake Tahoe, at the venue Exchange LA in Los Angeles, and from Insomniac Studios. I also dropped a track called “Break (My Heart)” with Lektrique featuring my own vocals on Kannibalen Records. 2021 has been great so far with releases on Confession, Pinnacle Collective, and a forthcoming EP on Dr. Fresch’s House Call Records. My biggest advice is to be as authentic as possible when it comes to your art. That is how you stand the test of time and stand out among the rest.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My ideal day in LA

10:00 am- wake up + get coffee at TeaPop in North Hollywood

11:00 am-hike Fryman Canyon

1:00 pm- Either make my own lunch or hit Brews Brothers in Noho

3:00 pm-Work on music at my studio

7:00 pm-Dinner at 9th Street Ramen

10:00 pm-Casual hangs and drinks at home while watching my peers livestream on Youtube

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would not be anywhere without my brother (Dack Janiels) and good friend (HAMi) who co-own 40oz Cult with me. As well as my team from All Access MGMT (Jason Hong, Ben Puig, and Allison Blythe).
