We had the good fortune of connecting with Ted Nguyen and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ted, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind my success is staying true to myself. This is important for success because only YOU can determine YOUR success. Everyone can walk the same direction, but not everyone will take the same path. My work has become my Passion, and Passions have become Priority.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Massage has always been an Art to me. The idea of understanding your muscles and promoting them to heal themselves is Body Education in Art form. But I wasn’t always directed towards massage therapy; I graduated with my B.S. Kinesiology hoping to become a Physical Therapist. College wasn’t the easiest let me tell you, but no one ever tells you that getting the classes you needed was harder than you thought. I finished college, but not to the job standards that I wanted. My outlooks: Physical Trainer or PE Teacher. I took a shot at training but it never was my thing to plan someone else’s workout routines. So when I first got into massage school, I didn’t know what to expect. However, I learned that I had a talent for massage as I learned more and more about the muscles. Crazy thing was… I felt that I can feel the muscles talking to me when I touched them. I never knew I had a knack for massage , but the more I educated myself about the body, the more I was able to unlock. In the end, I learned that following your Passions will always lead you to your Happiness and Success.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If I had a friend who has never visited the area, the best thing to show them is our vast Landmarks that Southern California has to provide. Itineraries work to an extent to allow you to have an outline of your plans, but you never know if you may change your mind on what you may do. Or sometimes, you never know how the weather will unfold. There’s so many hidden gems that I have yet to discover, but I always start with taking people to Santa Monica to see the beach, then to LA to see what they have to offer. There’s so much in LA that you can literally find any type of food you may like. The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I just want to give a shoutout to everyone who has supported me in the growth of my business and brand. This Pandemic is rough and I wouldn’t be able to be where I am today without you. I also want to give a BIG shoutout to my loved ones for putting up with my B.S. and supporting me decisions. Love Y’all.
