We had the good fortune of connecting with The Brothers Mitchell and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi The Brothers, what’s something about your industry that outsiders are probably unaware of?
The one thing that many outsiders are unaware of in the film industry is that, how long it takes for you to reach your goal. Many people think once you get out of school you’re granted a job. Well we’re here to inform you that doesn’t happen often. You either have to know someone or intern for years before receiving that job. By us saying that you, should really love what you do before you hop into this industry.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
The thing that sets us apart from others is that, we are a family business. My brother and I have been in this industry for five years, and we’ve accomplished so much. We’re looking forward to what the universe will bring to us in the future. The film industry isn’t easy at all. There are a lot of people wanting to take advantage of you, down play your knowledge, and encourage you to stop believing in your dreams. My brother and I have learned to distance ourselves from these type of people. We strive to surround ourselves with positive people that strive for greatness. One of the lessons that we’ve learned along the way has been to not BURN ANY BRIDGES!!! The one thing that we want the world to take away from our brand and story is that, we didn’t quit. We’ve been through all of the adversities, the highs the lows and we’re still continuing on with our dream.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We would head to Joshua Tree to star gaze as we talk about life. We’ll take them camping, kayaking and end the week with queso tacos from Michi’s while we watch a good movie and relax.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First off we have to say thank you to our parents for their support and encouragement. If it wasn’t for them, nothing that we have accomplished, this far would have been possible. Also we would love to thank all of our mentors that have taught us the way of the industry and how to conduct business.
