We had the good fortune of connecting with Veronica Chiang and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Veronica, can you tell us more about your background and the role it’s played in shaping who you are today?
Growing up, I did not have the upbringing of a normal childhood or was given any opportunities that I was able to give to myself today.

My parents told me that I would never amount to anything. That I was not good enough and shut down all the opportunities that came my way to become something of this world.

But as I grew older and the pain of their constant verbal and mental abuse grew stronger, I took that impact of trauma and turned it into something positive and took my experience to be the person for others that no one was for them.

From this experience, it turned me into someone who genuinely wants to see good in people and to be the one to be able to spread kindness onto others

Everyone deserves to be happy and to have a smile on their face each day.

Please tell us more about your work. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
I I was a Pastry cook up until my work accident. So my main focus as of now is food influencing. I work with restaurants and companies to promote their business through my food photography and Instagram contents.

Getting here was definitely not easy. I had to overcome many unforseen challenges that had me search for easy ways out

But those challenges taught me a lesson that there are no easy ways out. So take the opportunity as it presents itself and trust the process that everything will work out for the better.

What I want the world to know is that despite my hardships, I am still genuinely ME. I want people to understand and know 100% of who I’ve always been and not who they think I am or want me to be.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take them to places that they do not have available in their hometown and give them one heck of an experience to remember.

Such as food adventures to places they have never been before. Whether it’s night markets, new restaurants, food events, or even a hole in the wall place.

Food is not just about eating to live. There’s a whole room full of experiences that’s worth exploring.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My group of friends who has been there for me through my best and my worst.

The food community. If it wasn’t for the people I have met along the way in my journey to becoming a true food influencer, I wouldn’t have made it this far. Their constant love and support and encouragement to never give up made me always want to give back to others as they have given to me
