We had the good fortune of connecting with Vishnu Kay and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Vishnu, what’s something about your industry that outsiders are probably unaware of?
While the duties of almost all the Wedding vendors get done on the day of the wedding, a photographers job is only halfway done. Carrying all the gear across your shoulders and being on your feet all day long is just tip of the ice berg. Culling the photos, editing them, organizing them for viewing, marketing, customer service, budgeting, equipment maintenance and there are many more which happen after and before shoots which lot of people are unaware of.

What should our readers know about your business?
At Yin & Yang Studios, we take pride in relationships. Like the name evidently suggests, we firmly believe in people with varying personalities coming together to form a union. While our primary focus is always around the couple and tell their magical tale as it happened, we also strive to include all the factors that make their big day extra special.

By hiring someone to capture possibly the biggest day of your lives, couples are letting us into their lives and we take full advantage of that aspect and we become friends with almost everyone on site. When everyone important at a party knows you by your first name, consider that you have made a mark.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I honestly love the San Francisco Bay Area so much. There is so much to see and do. From beaches to mountains, from desert to desserts, from hip nightlife to cute brunch spots, the list is endless.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The first shout out will definitely go out to the co-owner, my partner and my life support, Miss M. She’s been the masala to my curry, the ice to my whiskey, simply put, the Yin to my Yang.

The very next shoutout would be to all the clients who trusted me with capturing their memories and letting me into one of the biggest milestone in their lives.

Third, the friends who believed I have the talent and been supportive on the sidelines by cheering me on every post I make on social media.
