We had the good fortune of connecting with Vivian Campbell and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Vivian, how do you think about risk?
The definition of risk is ‘expose (someone or something valued) to danger, harm, or loss.’ I choose to see risk as a challenge. I consider myself a risk taker and I take calculated risks. I live by the quote “You can’t steal second base and keep your foot on first.” Progress and growth involve some level of risk. Deciding to leave a high paying job and starting my own consulting company was definitely a risk. I am so glad I did it for many reasons. I learned my true self worth. I am able to pick and choose the clients I work with. I have been able to create my own brand and core values for what I believe in.

What should our readers know about your business?

I am proud to currently have two companies. My first is Vivian Campbell Consulting. I work primarily in the hospitality industry and I am proud to say my practices and skills are transferrable to any industry. What sets me apart from others is focus and engagement that is unsurpassed. We believe brand loyalty starts with your employees. Our clients love us because while most companies train on the how, we focus on the why. We educate employees first and then the training is easy. I have been fortunate in the fact that all of my business comes from referrals. My greatest compliment came from a potential boss when he said, “I was told to just hire you.” I did not quite understand at first and said there had to be more to that. He went on to say, “I was told, when you hire Vivian, you never have to worry about anything ever again. She will get the job done.” My mission for this company is to have companies around the world using the Campbell Method to run their departments efficiently and deliver five start service and any level.

My second is I Am What I Am Shop. I have an online store where we believe consistent inspiration can propel one to accomplish anything. We provide ways to show your strength and inner beauty. We offer stylish products and accessories to wear and surround yourself with positive reminders throughout the day. This has been a new venture for me. I took this opportunity to do my part in providing inspiration, encouragement and empowerment to people of all ages. I whole heartedly believe that when you have support and positivity in your life, you can accomplish anything. My mission for this company is to empower everyone to show their strength and wear it proud. I research different ways every week to grow my brand, spread the word and inspire as many people as I can.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love being a native from Los Angeles. We absolutely have so much to offer in this wonderful city. If my bff were in town for a full week, it would look something like this:

Monday: Breakfast in at The Farm in Beverly Hills and then walking and shopping.
Tuesday: Breakfast in Hollywood at Roscoe’s Chicken and Waffles and head over to Universal Studios Hollywood
Wednesday: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner at the house and just catch up and chill for a minute. Hiking at Tree People Coldwater Canyon
Thursday: Breakfast and Aroma Cafe on Tujunga in Studio City. I would call my contacts and get tickets to a movie premiere and after party.
Friday: A trip to Cabazon outlets and then to Palm Springs – Unless my bff decide to go to Morongo Casino & Hotel
Saturday: Breakfast at the house and talk about our week so far and chill for a minute. Then off to Santa Monica – shopping, lunch and a walking on the pier
Sunday: Brunch at the Four Seasons and then off to LAX

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would not be where I am today without the support, encouragement and confidence from gracious and positive leaders in my life: Robert Draney, Mark Harada and Jim McPartlin. Special thank you to Master Ken Nagayama, Ms. Kimberly Moulton and Mr. Amon Platis for their guidance and teachings for my pathway to personal power. I continuously thank God and Father Ed Benioff for spiritual guidance. And last but not least, my loving parents Mary and Joseph Campbell – that’s right, Mary and Joseph. Their never ending love and support will always be appreciated.
