We had the good fortune of connecting with Yvonne Neustadter and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Yvonne, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
When I thought about starting my own business, my goal was autonomy. I had already been with two brokerages at that time and I was interested in creating my own firm that was modern, tech savvy, streamlined and agent-friendly. I’m so proud of what The Property Lab has become.

What should our readers know about your business?
I’m very proud of The Property Lab (TPL). We are a modern, tech savvy firm that prides itself on its stellar marketing and range of offerings that include not just the standard selling of a home, but we are leasing experts and also have a rare niche with hotel residences that have become very popular in the last 10 years.

Not only is TPL modern and tech savvy, we are fantastic negotiators and I owe much of my success to my higher education and work ethic. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in communications and also hold a degree in merchandising. Besides that, I also have a staging background as I worked with a furniture company and their photography team handling their catalog work. All of this plays a pivotal part role in how TPL works with clients and their properties.

As The Property Lab founder, I’m proud to be one of the few Latin and Woman owned real estate brokerage firms in Los Angeles. Also of importance, I’m not just a regular real estate agent. I’m a broker which means I have the highest tiered license and I also have the authority to oversee other agents. Many Realtors are regular salespersons.

TPL is where it is today because of tenacity. I worked long hours seven days a week for years. I love it though! I am so passionate about real estate not only for myself, but for my clients. I know they see this and that shows through in the success I’ve had and the path I’ve made not only in Downtown Los Angeles, Hollywood and more. These are two of the most challenging and growing markets in LA and I continue to break records.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was visiting Los Angeles I would most definitely take her to the Downtown Los Angeles area first. The area is full of incredible eateries and museums. After spending a few days in Downtown, I’d head to Hollywood, Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills and have our final day in Century City.

In Downtown, we’d have dinner several nights at Bavel and Bestia and we’d spend several days on museum row visiting The Broad, MOCA and in addition, I’d get tickets to the LA Philharmonic for an experience at Walt Disney Concert Hall. We’d make our way west and spend the following day at The Griffith Observatory and definitely get tickets to the planetarium show and have dinner at Little Dom’s that night. Next we’d make our way to Beverly Hills and take a stroll down Rodeo Drive. We would have lunch at the famous Beverly Wilshire Hotel and then to finalize our trip, we’d spend our last day exploring at The Century City Mall. With its great outdoor vibe, we’d take all the shopping in and end our day with dinner at Javier’s. A fantastic, upscale Mexican restaurant that is fantastic!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There are two real estate mentors I’d like to give a shoutout to for their support and mentorship. The first person is Jason Reitz. I had just started in real estate and we were both agents at Keller Williams Brentwood at the time. He gave me a lease listing in the Miracle Mile area and I was so excited. I’m grateful he trusted me and I was able to successfully rent out that property. Second person is Stephen Shapiro. He was a broker at the second firm I was with. At a weekly office meeting he asked his agents to raise their hand if they wanted a lease listing in Downtown Los Angeles. I was the only one to raise my hand. That lease listing was at The Ritz Carlton Residences Los Angeles and I was able to turn that single lease listing into hundreds of sale and lease transactions to date. Thank you Jason and Stephen!
