We had the good fortune of connecting with Zed & Ace – Favorit and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Zed & Ace, have you ever found yourself in a spot where you had to decide whether to give up or keep going? How did you make the choice?
I think in each part of our lives there is different circumstances that can factor into a decision on what is best for us in that moment. Being in this band is exactly the same. We find the best way we handle the decision on “keep going or giving up” is almost like going through your old clothes in a closet. Does a project “really bring us joy” or Inspiration and moving on from there. It feels like a lot of self analyzing and making pro and cons list. But remembering to give your main passion everything you’ve got because that’s where your heart is.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
We are a LGBT+ duo with ethnic families so our story and music as a band is very inspired by our backgrounds. Our sound is Funk, R&B, and Alternative driven but our music has no boundaries, so we just do what ever we like! We created Favorit in March of 2019 and it started as a common interest that slowly end up with us fully pursuing music and this band full time. A lot of our journey has been us leaving our jobs for our true passion, music- and learning to be proud for growth even if its so small. We are very excited for our upcoming release on all platforms for our single “Real Kind Of Love” on Feb 14 it is a bilingual bop about how much work love can be. As well as finishing up our debut Album and growing as a band and as artists.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Lucky for you, We are quite the connoisseurs with very controversial opinions! Each day would have to start out with Simply coffee-Best coffee in Burbank period! Following with Counterpart breakfast. Now this is where it gets tricky if you are visiting on a Sunday we most likely already have tickets to melrose trading post our weekly thrifting adventure, so you’d def join us. Otherwise we would probably take everything to go because the real attraction is our 75in Tv and where we would binge a few shows and ordering in Cactus Taqueria bean and rice burritos or our custom orders from 8oz Poke (best poke in the Vally hands down!) Ending each lovely night at/doing 1 of the 3 -sunset beach jam at El Pescador State Beach, skating down from the 6th floor at the parking lot next to wood ranch grill in Burbank , or just dancing around to some music while cooking. We love making dinner and hosting get togethers over a meal so after a long day in the hustle and bustle of the city it is our little moment of peace. The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
