We had the good fortune of connecting with Natalie Jambazian and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Natalie, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind my business is to bring awareness to our community by teaching self-love in order for people to value themselves as much as they value others. My contribution as a mental health therapist stems from my own inner work. Growing up in an immigrant family as an Armenian American wasn’t easy. My parents came from couple dollars in their pockets and created a business in America for a better life for me. It was then when I realized being successful was so important. I felt the need to make money to become someone in this world. After much self-discovery it had hit me one day that I struggled with the idea of success because I was running after a mindset that wasn’t making me happy. A strong mental Health is one of the most valuable resources you can have. We are living in a generation of anxiety, depression, PTSD, anger and trauma. I noticed the suffering of so many people in relationships with themselves and others. I always label myself as an ’empath’. I feel the pain of others’ and I felt like I had a calling later on in life through my own personal and professional experiences to educate, motivate, and inspire by guiding others to love themselves, work on their past trauma and dedicate my time to help improve their mental state. Each and every one of us have gone through some type of suffering, whether its death of a loved one, an accident, engaging in toxic/narcissistic relationships, domestic violence, or past hurt that has stopped people from living. I created an avatar of who my ideal clientele is and what they look like. From there I manifested the type of clients I want to work with based on my education and specialty. When I discovered this, I realized success is both a goal and a journey. It wasn’t just linked to making more and more money to become successful. It was the contrary, I felt success when I saw my clients progress, when I would hear them say “thank you for helping me”, I felt success by establishing myself and my work as an authentic expert in helping others in their healing journey. Although I work with both men and women in my private practice, however as a female entrepreneur I had a deeper understanding of the conditioning that was set for us to behave a certain way in society, pleasing others, thinking and acting a certain way. . I am the creator and founder of self-love society, built a foundation by developing systematic programs for women to identify the trauma caused by a narcissist partner in order to rediscover themselves and cultivate healthier relationships by setting boundaries, learning self-respect, practicing self-love, so they can take back control of their life.
What should our readers know about your business?
The brand behind my company I founded and created, self-love society, is not about me. It is about people around the world who face obstacles on a daily basis. They are the heart and soul of my business. They are the ones who encouraged me to develop a platform where they can feel supported when some don’t “get it”. I am just the by-product of the movement. Self-love society was created to help people break free from the negative narratives they were conditioned to believe. People have a misconception of self-love. It isn’t selfish, it doesn’t mean you don’t love others or aren’t willing to sacrifice. It means you love yourself enough to not allow toxic people room to enter your life, to set boundaries with people who cross it and to see your self-worth and recognize that YOU matter. I didn’t know what I wanted to specialize in when I started becoming a therapist. It was through my personal relationships dealing with narcissistic people in my own life that guided me to this field. It was a calling. It was a mission. It is my passion. It is my personal goal to help women and men across the globe to recognize the signs and traits that make them feel depressed and stuck. I had plethora of backlash working with survivors of narcissistic relationships, some people weren’t understanding the negative impact it had on survivors. That didn’t stop me, it encouraged me even more to speak my truth. I want people to know they are not alone in this and I am here amongst other coaches, therapists and mentors who get it. I am part of an alliance called NAAA (Narcissistic abuse awareness alliance), who are educators, authors, writers, therapists, and coaches who contribute their time to fight for survivors to help them thrive in life.
Any great local spots you’d like to shoutout?
The best adventure I always say is to experience the great outdoors. I love being in nature, feeling mindful and grounded amongst natural waterfalls, and taking in vitamin D. My favorite places I would venture out with a friend is to escape the city and take a road trip through the California coast, passing through Monterey, Carmel, Paso Robles, making a pit stop at the vineyards to taste the delicious wines. Then heading to Big Sur for couple of days to be in nature, hike and relax in the natural springs. It is the most scenic drive and I love to savor the charming luxury of the beaches and wildflowers.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My story behind my success wouldn’t be possible without recognizing the integral mentors that have made my dreams into reality. To start, my parents have been my backbone from day one. They have taught me to never give up on myself and the vision of how I see my future. They have inspired me to fight for what I believe in and supported me in every step of the way. Seeing their journey in life contributed to so much of my success. I also dedicate my work to my past supervisors who have held my hand through setbacks and truly believed in me when I had others who didn’t believe in my vision. Shout out to Anita Avedian, Fereshteh Mazdyasni, and Jordan Duvall who took me under their wings and taught me how to fly. My mentors, my coaches, my friends- I am truly blessed and grateful that the universe has provided me with such amazing souls who are all entrepreneurs themselves and go-getters. I am deeply thankful for their exemplary perseverance and leadership guidance they have bestowed onto me. Last but not least, my own therapist who has greatly contributed to my inner work of self-love, acceptance, patience, tolerance, and encouraging me to be the best version of myself.
