We had the good fortune of connecting with Nazgol Seyedi and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Nazgol, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
One of the most important factors of feeling fulfilled and happy is to have a balanced life. Once we prioritize our goals and values, we have a better chance in achieving the dream of having a work-life balance. For me, my priorities have changed over years as my family, especially my 7 year old son, is evolving. The way I think about the balance is to think about my values and what my vision for my life is for now and for future. Then I introduce the desired balance into my weekdays and my weekends. Therefor, I am able to address any counter productive behavior, transform them, and manage stress.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I love making an impact or changing people’s lives for better. My passion is to make dreams come true! When it gets to people’s homes, I spend a good amount of time getting to know my clients to create the best version of them, because I believe each home should represent the true souls living there. Unlike many designers, I do not own a “style” as an interior designer for people to know me by, and ask me to recreate in their space. I get so proud and excited when I see my clients believe in me and my vision, and allow me to create their dream home. The best reward is getting a message from the clients after the project is over about how much they are enjoying their new space and how “at home” they feel!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Due to the Covid-19 regulations, some of the recommended places- especially the indoor ones- may be temporarily closed.
On a beautiful day in Orange County, I like to spend most of my leisure time outside. So, I would probably start with a delicious breakfast at Malibu Farm in Newport Beach followed by a little walk around Lido Marina Village and the cute little shops. I would definitely go back to Lido Village one evening for an early drink with waterfront views at Zinqué. One of my most favorite spots to have an early dinner and watch the sunset over the ocean is The Deck in Laguna Beach. The food is yummy, the drinks are awesome and the view is just breathtaking. While we wait for our table, we can either sit at the bar or take a walk on the beach. I love walking in the streets of Laguna Beach and visit the many art galleries that are spread around on PCH and the connecting streets. One of my favorites is Marlon Holden with all the amazing Fine Art Photographies. You’d be lucky if Marlon himself was there to tell you all about his great adventures to take these photos. A good place to have brunch on weekends is Gigi’s Cafe. I love the Mediterranean food, especially the Sultan Tray! For a day of shopping, I’d go to Fashion Islands, sit by the pretty Koi Pond to enjoy the beautiful fish movements, and I would never say no to a heavenly gelato from Bacio di Latte. While there, we would eat at one of many great restaurants such as Red O, R+D Kitchen, Mariposa, Fig & Olive, Sushi Roku or my very own favorite True Food Kitchen. If it’s during the summer months, the Forest Ave in Laguna Beach is the place to be in the evenings, as the street has closed down and all the restaurants offer outside deck sitting with a fun European vibe. I would do this after a good hike at Top of the World or the trails in Laguna Canyon and visiting Art-A-Fair or Sawdust. If the weather is not too great outside, I would go to South Coast Plaza for a day of shopping, followed by dinner at Vaca, and I would probably end the evening with a dance performance or a Broadway show at the Segerstrom Center. Another great place to hang out for drinks is 180blū in Ritz Carlton. I would probably go there for a couple of hours to enjoy live music with a breathtaking ocean view, before heading to a fancy dinner at either The Drake or Selanne.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
