We had the good fortune of connecting with Sharisse Adams and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sharisse, can you share a quote or affirmation with us?
“Keep Life Simple” for me it represents balance. As I’ve gotten older I’ve become more patient with everything, and not letting life’s challenges get the best of me. It’s not always easy to keep life simple, trying to balance family, relationships, work, and entrepreneurship. One of my simple pleasures is sitting in my sunroom in the morning and enjoying a cup of coffee. That simple pleasure alone gives me a positive outlook on life and a jumpstart to get my day off to a great start. This new normal has made it a little easier to keep life simple. Quality time at home, early mornings listening to the silence and the beauty of birds chirping, the day spent in pj’s, movie nights on the couch and appreciating the simple surroundings of home.

What’s funny is I’ve always been creative, loving to create beautiful things, photography, restoration, cooking, I’ve done it all. So when I started working for Los Angeles County I always thought of it as temporary or a means to get what I needed. 30+ years later I’m still here. I can say it has taught me to be resilient, and very appreciative. Several years ago I took a leap of faith into something I’d been experimenting with for about 2 years. I started making self-care products for myself, then family and friends. They are the ones that gave me the extra push to start my own brand. That was the best push I’ve ever had! It led me to where I am today creating products that make people happy. My passion is creating natural products for skin, hair and wellness while using all natural ingredients. (Each product is made with 5 or less organic or vegan ingredients.) It truly helps that I have some of the best customers they are amazing, they make this journey easy and worth it. I’m so excited to see where this journey takes me. My dream is to eventually retire from my 9-5 and open a cute little natural storefront.
Any great local spots you’d like to shoutout?
Oh my! I’m a vintage fanatic. I love old furniture pieces, and thrifting for vintage clothing. Our first stop would be the Long Beach Antique/Vintage Flea at Veterans Stadium. I like to get up and hit it early for first dibs on the good stuff. Its one of my favorite outtings and has become a fav for all my friends I take along. Afterwards we’d hit up “The Attic on Broadway,” or “Nick’s on 2nd” for a late breakfast early lunch. Got to have some energy to hit the thrift shops. Another favorite is downtown L.A. Flowermart, and the garment district. Since we’re downtown we gots to pop in “Poppy + Rose” for some good eats. A few more favs are the great antique shops in Pomona. Victoria Gardens you can shop and eat all day. Last but not least the Heritage Farmer’s Market at the Terra Vista Town center every Saturday from 9-2pm. That is where the magic happens, I vend there on Saturdays so we gotta go there.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My mom! Growing up seeing her be as strong as she could to give us the best she had to give. Watching her gave me the motivation to want more. She always encouraged myself and siblings to be the best versions of ourselves. Her work ethics, strength, courage and love gave us a solid ground to start from and helped me become the person I am today.
