We had the good fortune of connecting with Sharon Arouchanov and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sharon, what makes you happy? Why?
Being able to do what I love while being a mother & wife makes me happy and gives my life so much meaning and purpose. It’s a constant juggling act with plenty of late nights but nothing means more to me than being able to do what I love, to be part of so many love stories all while being able to be with my babies every day. My husband and I made a decision while I was pregnant that I would be a stay at home mom but I am not really the stay at home type – I loved the hustle and bustle of corporate America and enjoyed working. Unfortunately, my corporate job was not flexible when it came to a new mom who wanted to be with her baby as much as possible. Luckily, I was always doing wedding planning and coordination on the side and decided it was the perfect time to take a leap of faith and pursue my dream of wedding & event planning full time and it was the absolute best decision I’ve ever made in regards to my career. Now I have 2 full-time jobs that are extremely fulfilling and give me so much joy.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Simply Glamorous Events is a full-service design and event planning company. We specialize in bringing our clients visions to fruition and being their right hand during the entire planning process – be it their wedding day, a 1st birthday or a small cocktail party. My motto in life is to treat others as I want to be treated and that’s exactly how I treat their events – like it is my own.
Any great local spots you’d like to shoutout?
I love taking my boys to museums such as the Natural History Museum, California Science Center, La Brea Tar Pits, and the Aquarium of the Pacific. We also love quick day trips to the LA Zoo followed by dinner at the Americana in Glendale, beach days in Santa Monica or Malibu, and quick staycations in Newport Beach or San Diego – you can never go wrong with any of those local spots for a quick change of scenery.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My husband, Greg Arouchanov, for his constant support and love and giving me the courage and motivation to take a leap of faith to pursue my dream. My sister, Sharlene Quan, for being the best sister and auntie to my boys while I work. I couldn’t do it without her.
