Through our work we have had the good fortune of seeing firsthand how success comes in every shape, size, color, faith, and orientation. More importantly we’ve learned that success is often the result of people embracing their unique backgrounds and so we’ve asked the community to tell us about their background and how it has impacted where they are today.

Robert Michael | Actor, Composer & Director

I’m originally a small, rural area a few miles north of Flint, MI. My family was heavily involved with the sport of dogsledding so I learned from an early age the value of responsibility, work ethic, determination and respect, all of which have led me to being an actor in what is probably the toughest area of the industry, Los Angeles. I also grew up a theatre kid, so a sense of community was developed as well. Read more>>

Dennis Mailu | Actor

My name is Dennis Mailu and I was born in Nairobi, Kenya. I currently reside in Los Angeles, California. I have had the opportunity to spend my early formative years in my home country prior to pursuing education in the United Kingdom as well as Los Angeles. My family is very close knit and supportive toward many of my endeavors. This support was nurtured from a young age with love and direction from my parents. I was taught to not only hold education dear to oneself but more-so how to apply it in your day to day life. With time, this wholesome approach was also expanding in the form of life experience and cultural awareness. Today, that background and upbringing has helped cultivate me as an actor. Read more>>

My husband and I moved to the Santa Fe Art Colony a few years ago so this part of the city has become home and the draw of historic downtown, Chinatown, Little Tokyo, and the Fashion and Flower districts provide endless photo opportunities which have rounded out my experience as an Angeleno in a meaningful way. Julie Diamond | Personal Trainer & Fitness Expert

I’m originally from Maryland and studied textile marketing at University of Maryland. I was in the fashion industry in Washington, D.C. and Los Angeles for many years after college but always had a passion for fitness and nutrition. When I was in my mid 20’s both my parents fell ill and I started delving into preventive health. That’s where my fitness career actually started. I changed careers with the intention of teaching people the value of preventative health and how incorporating exercise, clean eating and meditation can enhance their well being … mind body and spirit! I saw the link between living a healthy lifestyle and living a longer more fulfilling life. I now have 11 certifications and love taking continuing education classes because there’s always something new to learn. Read more>>
