We had the good fortune of connecting with Alexa Abraxas and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alexa, what are you inspired by?
I’m inspired by the genuinity and Intellectual depth of a person. So many people try to be something they’re not because they want to fit in so bad. So when I see people who are themselves and have a real story and past with with it’s just beautiful and inspiring.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
It has been such an amazing 4 years living in LA! I’ve grown so much as a individual. I’ve lived moved since moving to LA than I have the past 10 years. I’ve modeled for over 10 years and been in music and film for the past 4 years and it hasn’t been the easiest journey as the industry can be a bit tough on your mental health. I’ve been rejected so many times for a number of reasons and had roles given away because I’m not white or look the part or skinny enough. However, I didn’t let those things get to me and stayed true to myself. I’ve honestly been so blessed lately to have been signed with a good agency and have my agents in film and fashion industry and my music manager who has pushed me and believed in me so much.

I’ve learned that it’s very easy to get carried away and lose yourself in my industry because you’re constantly told who you should be instead of who you are. I have started living for me and loving myself and staying true to who I am so that way I can create and help inspire others.

We live in a world where it’s so vain and social media has just brought the new generation to think they have to look a certain way or be a certain way. I hope I can help use my music and platform to reach others and promote self love and the meaning of kindness that we lack so badly.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would take them to them to the Iconic Abbey in West Hollywood and all the local bars there as there is just such a sense of community and fun. I would also take them to my fave hiking trails in Malibu and the beach.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
It’s hard to pick just one person when there’s some amazing people who have really stuck by my side and helped me to grow into the woman I am today. I’d like to shout out my chosen family here in LA who has had my back and pushed me to succeed the past few years (Nick Osin, Murray Swamby, JJ Knight, August Getty, Bryan Singer, Nick Masc, Misha Galenko and Hunter Hall.) I would also love to shout out my mentor Bill Diggins and my music manger Adrian Jauregui. I wouldn’t be here and inspired without you guys, thank you so much for being apart of my journey!
