We had the good fortune of connecting with Devlon Short and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Devlon, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Our thought process was simply to own something we could pass down to our kids. I wanted to be able to have something to call my own…I disliked working for a job where I would have to ask if it’s okay to take sick leave when I didn’t feel well, to take a vacation to finally rest, or when something happen in my household I would need to see if I could leave early. I didn’t want that for me and didn’t want my kids to experience that, so my wife and I decided to start a business together.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Our art form is Filmmakers. We create engaging videos that will attract the desired audience our clients want. I believe what really sets us apart is that we help who we work with from pre-production/planning the project to how we’re going to market it afterward. Getting to this way of doing things was not an easy task first starting off, it was a lot of trial and error. Most times I questioned myself and wanted to stop going after this career choice but I never gave up! just kept learning and growing! trying new things, seeing what works and what doesn’t. Always saying how can I get the desired result. I highly courage everyone who ever going the route of artist and creative is always keep learning and never give up! And remember what you put out to the world as your art is a representation of yourself! Make it a good one!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would take them to the best spots in LA. Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Downtown LA, Santa Monica, Venice Beach, and Malibu. Some of my favorite spots is the arts district in DTLA and hanging at the beach during sunset. As far as eating, we love hitting up this spot called “Daves Hot CHicken” in the east part of Hollywood.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Honestly, I would like to. thank the clients that I’ve worked with since the beginning of our journey…its because of them we’ve made it this far. So, many lessons were learned from them, good and bad. It shaped our way of thinking about what works for us and what doesn’t.
