We had the good fortune of connecting with Patricia Gispert and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Patricia, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
I always believed that in anything we do, if it is from love, it will always thrive, and Cookie Chaos is not an exception. When I started Cookie Chaos almost 2 years ago, I took the opportunity to use my love for baking to create and share to the community, delicious cookies & desserts with my own Filipino/Asian-inspired twist. This is also translated as we prepare the cookies and dessert bars. We always make sure to use top-quality ingredients and utilize best-practices every time. To this day, each and every sweet treat is prepared with so much joy and love from our home-kitchen and you can definitely taste it in every bite! We share this, not only to our customers, but also with our business partners, co-vendors, suppliers, and to the community we serve. Success is knowing that Cookie Chaos’ brings happiness one cookie at a time.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I have an Industrial Engineering background, paired with my exceptional work ethics, I have been a successful Project Manager/Project Analyst for over 20+ years now. I show up everyday, bringing my A-game, my 100% to the table, but also always leaving room for learning. There will always be challenges along the way, career or business-wise, but as long as I maintain respect for the work, the people I work with, and for myself, everything can always be a great learning experience.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Let me see…first day will be spent in Pasadena of course! Morning can start with a delicious coffee from DASH Coffee Bar, then head down to Lucky Boy’s for their famous Breakfast Burrito. Spend the day at the Huntington Library and then maybe head down to San Gabriel Valley for a plethora of great food! Newest food spot is the Blossom Market Hall along San Gabriel Blvd., close to the San Gabriel Mission Church. This chic food court has different choices of food ranging from Singaporean, Carribean, Southern BBQ, Mexican, and my fave are the unique drinks from AK Fresh Roast. This is only the first day! Next days will be spent in L.A., visit the museums to LACMA, La Brea Tar Pits, The Board, then have lunch at the Grand Central Market. There’s a lot of choices for food there, but my fave is Sari-Sari Store, a delicious spot for Filipino Food. We can also head down Hollywood for the famous Walk of Fame and have a slice of pizza at the Delicious Pizza along Sunset Blvd. for your afternoon snack. Dinner will be at Japantown, in our spot – Kouraku-Japanese Ramen, where they serve traditional style Japanese Food. My fave there is their Tenshin Chahan. Then of course after the tour within the city, your visit to Los Angeles is not complete without visiting the beaches. Malibu, Venice, Santa Monica or even all the way to Newport Beach.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
A big, huge shoutout to my partner-in-crime, my best friend, my husband – Yves. He’s always there supporting me through this journey. From the start, he has encouraged me to pursue my love for baking and always believe in myself. Fast forward to today, he’s been here with me everyday prepping, packing, stocking, delivering, and doing everything else in between for this business! Cookie Chaos will not be here without him. I also want to do a special shoutout to my daughters, Sophia & Helena, they inspire me to be alway strive to be the best version of myself. Thank you girls for being my no. 1 fans! To my parents, this one’s for you! Also a huge thank you to the San Gabriel Valley community, especially to SGV Eats Group, Cookie Chaos got our big break when I posted in Facebook under the SGV Eats group in Oct of 2020 — since then everyone in this community has been very supportive thru pre-orders, Pop-Ups, recommendations, and continuous encouragements. It is also thru this community that wonderful opportunities opened up for us, so thank you, thank you, thank you! Lastly, I want to send a sincere appreciation to our business partners, Kitchen United-Pasadena (Janey), DASH Coffee Bar (Jane), AK Fresh Roast (Lynn), Delicious Pizza (Rick), Pop of Unity LA/UFC Gym (Tammy, Tony & Jason) and Callisto Teahouse (Wendy & Nathan) — you all have given me the chance to grow my small business and provide me with valuable lessons and guidance through this adventure. I will forever be grateful to all of you. I appreciate all the love from each and everyone of you!
