We had the good fortune of connecting with Bonnie Keith and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?

My art is my passion. When I am filming, editing, or creating any type of graphic or visual art, “time” just flies by. I get lost in the “zone” of creativity.

I believe one of the things that sets me apart from others in my field is my background as a professional actress. Whenever I film anyone, whether it be a video promo for a small business or a large wedding, my approach is that of Movie Making.

I film using multi cameras, and every video I create is a multi cam edited video. Videos reflect a moment, or a story, or someone sharing their knowledge: therefore, applying a multi camera vision to these videos creates a much more appealing and exciting visual experience.

Also, because of my acting experience, I am very, very comfortable in front of the camera. I therefore can help others get comfortable in front of the camera as well. When I film a small business owner, they actually end up getting a little acting lesson out of our video session.

My clients often finish their video filming session and remark, “That was so easy”, and ” That was soooo much Fun”.
Once I am able to get someone to relax and just “speak from the heart” (rather than trying to remember the script they wrote the night before), they come across relaxed, genuine,  and their true essence and message comes across in the video.

I started my first video production company back in the late 70’s, yes, before anyone even knew that VIDEO was going to be such a powerful medium. When I resurrected my company in 2008, I remember thinking that I wanted to be the “Queen of Video” in my neighborhood and community. I had no idea what it would take to get to that point and status.

So I worked tirelessly every day to learn, improve and network, and then learn more, and hone my craft, and find out people’s needs, and work on fulfilling those. Little by little and video by video, my work began to get known and the referrals started coming in.

I was tenacious and no matter what others were doing, I kept my head down, did my best uncompromised work, always offering MORE than I promised, and it all paid off.

I have now received over 12 Awards as being “top Videographer”, or “Best business” in my community .

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Hollywood is always a treat for people visiting LA, but there is also Santa Monica and Venice, Westwood (UCLA)…we have beaches and mountains and valleys. Malibu, Rodeo Drive, the Farmers Market and the Fairfax District.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My parents and my children. Basically my biggest support group: and one which has never judged or put limits on anything in my life.

My parents allowed me to pursue my dreams at a very young age, even though they may have thought of them as mere “fantasies” at the time.

I was a bit of a tomboy when I was not even a teenager and my parents supported all sports or activities that I wanted to engage in, including boxing when I was 10 years old.

When I announced at the age of 10 that I wanted to “Be an Actress “when I grew up”, they took me at my word and supported me both financially and emotionally.

I didn’t let them down. And it was a great joy to both my parents every time I appeared as a guest star on a national TV show, or when they sat in the audience of a live play that I performed in.

My parents instilled in me the spirit and belief that I could do anything that I set my mind to and I have followed that edict throughout my life, including my relationship with my husband and the raising of my two children.

I still believe that the only limits I have are ones I would self impose. My successes are in large part thanks to the mindset that my parents instilled in me.
