We had the good fortune of connecting with Ryan West and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ryan, can you share a quote or affirmation with us?
One of my favorite affirmations is “Clear intent – Outcome free”. I don’t recall where I read that but it essentially means to have a clear vision or idea of what it is you want to achieve – then plan, research, and execute, and then let it be. Do not fret or worry about the outcome because in the first part you have done all you can do to achieve what you wanted to do. that’s what it means to be outcome free. The only thing I will add on is to review the outcome to see what you did right and what you could improve on if necessary.

What should our readers know about your business?
I take great care in the service I provide and the images I create for my clients. I am constantly trying out new methods and learning as much as possible both from the past and current masters. In the high end luxury market in which I work there is no room for error, every shoot must be a success. Although demanding I do tend to strive in this environment. Being comfortable with ambiguity and dealing with pressure was a prerequisite in my early days in Finance, and as such this has helped me immensely in my current endeavors.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
One thing I love about Los Angeles is the vast amount of things to do and see. I would say it depends on the interest of the person visiting, but some of my favorite spots are the many beaches along the Pacific Coast Highway including Malibu, Manhattan beach, Dana Point etc. As well, the Getty Center is always enjoyable as well as LACMA. Cruising along the sunset strip and finding a cool spot for a drink or a bite to eat is always fun. On the other side of the mountain I like Priscilla’s coffee in Burbank, as well as Lou The French On The Block, and of course Portos! You really cant go wrong just getting into the car and driving around the main areas, there’s always something new to try!
