We had the good fortune of connecting with Zosia Garcia Sledzinska and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Zosia, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I moved to LA with two suitcases, so I would say risks plays a big part in my life, I wasn’t sure what was going to happen but here we are. At times it was difficult but it has been an amazing journey

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
There have been so many people throughout my life who told me, ‘You’ll never achieve your goals; it’s impossible.’
I believe that if you can imagine it, you can achieve it. It has been hard at times, but I’ve proven to myself that with discipline and by not listening to what people have to say, you can reach your goals. I’m still miles away from making my 90-year-old self proud, but I’m heading in the right direction. There were many times when things got so complicated that I thought I didn’t have it in me, but it’s all about believing in yourself and pushing yourself. I will never stop believing in my dreams cause there’s a reason why they’re there.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Every time someone comes from out of town, I recommend going to LACMA. Hopefully, it’s summer, and we can go to the jazz nights and have a picnic there. The Hollywood Bowl is always a must. We can watch the sunset at Matador or Pescador Beach in Malibu. I would take them to the Observatory for sunset; it’s also a great place to visit. Maybe catch a comedy show or something fun; there’s always something fun going on in LA—concerts or Dodgers, Kings, or Lakers games. For food, Elephante is always an amazing option; that truffle pasta rocks

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I think my wife deserves a lot of credit. She has definitely made me a better person than I was when I met her. My family and friends, specifically those who always believed in me and pushed me to do big things, also deserve recognition.
