We had the good fortune of connecting with Nicki Ngo and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nicki, why did you pursue a creative career?
I pursued an artistic career because I want to capture raw, unfiltered emotion in my work. My art is a way to tell people’s stories—to give voice to their experiences and remind them that they exist, that they matter. At the core of it all, I want my art to reflect our shared humanity, to bridge the gaps between us, and to remind people that, no matter our differences, we are all human at the end of the day.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My art is deeply rooted in emotion, storytelling, and human connection. I strive to create pieces that capture raw, unfiltered feelings—whether it’s joy, pain, love, or resilience. What sets my work apart is my desire to give voice to untold stories, to make people feel seen, understood, and valued. I want my art to serve as a reminder that we all share a common humanity, no matter our backgrounds or experiences.

The journey to where I am today hasn’t been easy. Like many artists, I’ve faced moments of doubt and creative blocks. But through perseverance, self-reflection, and the support of those around me, I’ve continued to push forward. One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that art isn’t just about technical skill—it’s about authenticity and the willingness to be vulnerable.

What I want the world to know about my story is that I create from a place of deep passion and purpose. My work isn’t just about aesthetics; it’s about connection. Through my art, I hope to inspire, comfort, and remind people that their emotions, their stories, and their existence matter.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend were visiting for a week, I’d plan a trip filled with scenic beauty, relaxation, and a little adventure. Since I love nature, I’d take them to places where we can unwind, appreciate breathtaking views, and connect with the world around us.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to give a heartfelt shoutout to my family, friends, and my significant other, Parvin Pasricha. Their unwavering support, love, and encouragement have been the foundation of my journey. Through every challenge and every milestone, they have stood by me, reminding me of my strength and potential. I wouldn’t be where I am today without them, and for that, I am endlessly grateful.
