We had the good fortune of connecting with Carrie Stevens and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Carrie, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
With high risk comes high reward. It was my teenage son who reminded me of that while I was comentplating female solo travel in 2018. While traveling, I was writing my memoir, UNRATED “Revelations of a Rock ‘n’ Roll Centerfold” (now available on Amazon). As I examined the external factors of my life, I realized that every choice I have ever made was risky, and sometimes crazy. But had I not lived my life unconventionally, what would I have to write about? My son is smart. I guess the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. I wish I was as smart at my scientist father though. He is the brains behind my business, StayYoungandSkinny.com and the inventor of my revolutionary antiaging and weight loss product, The skinnynnaX System. We make a great team because he’s ultra conservative and I am ultra creative. It’s a perfect balance.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a survivor. I dropped out of college to run off with the love of my life, who was the drummer for Kiss. He passed away from a rare cancer in 1991. I went on to become and actress and Playboy’s Miss June 1997. In 2002 I found myself raising a child alone. I am most proud of being an single/only parent. My son is my sanity. I am blessed to have had him as inspiration to do more with my life. I didn’t want him to grow up without a strong work ethic. Being his only role model, I was determined to show him the value of hard work, so I became a business woman and a self published author.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love the Southern California coast. I love to sit outside at Geoffrey’s in Malibu or have cocktails at Shutters in Santa Monica. I love to have lunch poolside at the Beverly Hills Hotel. But at night, I am a total rocker chick. My idea of a fun night out is dinner at the Rainbow Bar and Grill and a concert some place on the Sunset Strip, like The Roxy or The Whiskey A Go-Go.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to thank my father, Dr. Eugene Pittz and his company, Nutragenom.
