We had the good fortune of connecting with Caley Versfelt and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Caley, let’s talk legacy – what do you want yours to be?
I want to be remembered for promoting kindness is contagious, diversity, acceptance and inclusion. Even though we are different, we should all celebrate together. We should be proud of who we are as individuals and be the best version of ourselves. This will make a kinder world. Don’t let self-doubt limit us. People should believe in themselves and the ability of others. All people should be treated with kindness, respect and dignity!
What should our readers know about your business?
I started Tides of Kindness to promote “Kindness is Contagious!” Everything I do promotes kindness, acceptance and inclusion. We should all be treated with respect and dignity. I am very positive and bring a smile and enthusiasm everywhere I go. I change hearts and attitudes with and inspire people to achieve their dreams.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Manhattan Beach and the South Bay is very beautiful. I would take them to the beach to swim, ride bikes, and watch the sunset. For dinner, we would enjoy Mexican food at El Gringo. Lake Nacimiento is a great place to go boating, soak in the sun and beauty.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I have so many people and organizations that have helped me become who I am. The list could go from A-Z. Best Buddies has helped me gain confidence, make friends, and help find my job with Entertainment Industry Foundation. Entertainment Industry Foundation builds my professional skills. I am on Best Buddies Los Angeles Advisory Board and am a Global Ambassador. This has improved my travel skills. Special Olympics helped me develop leadership and public speaking skills, by being on their Board of Directors and as a Global Messenger. I gained skills as the receptionist and was a media correspondent with the Special Olympics World Games. The Media Access Awards and Easter Seals has given me opportunities as a correspondent, actress, and production assistant. My acting coaches and agent are my mentors.
