We had the good fortune of connecting with Christopher Leyva and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Christopher, what do you attribute your success to?
I would say the most important factor , is accessibility and humbleness with a strong emphasis on education and a pay it forward attitude.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I have been in the industry for 20 years as an entertainer, from a Vegas residency to 5 world tours , we have managed to stay as independent due to our strong emphasis on community . We have strived as a band, brand and as an ambassador to represent many different areas of the Industry from managing museum artifacts , all the way to curating history and educating and mentoring other generations of musicians around the planet . The fact that we give every city and town something to tie us in with , wether is education, community conservation , volunteer work with charities it gives each city that connection that outlasts the music in to an interpersonal relationship that has a symbiotic relationship with the group and they become part of the story. Any lessons have not been negative but sometimes an expensive learning experience but with out any of those challenges we would not be who we are today. With any great story there has been massive sacrifices to my personal life and challenges of personal comfort for the greater good . But I would not have it any other way.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
For the Los Angeles area, we would start with coffee in Santa Monica at the pier, lunch at Nicks cafe on Pico and La Cienega , a walk around Hollywood and Vine with a visit to Amoeba Records , dinner would be for sure at the Chatteau Mormont with late night cocktails at the Rainbow bar and late night pool dip at the Roosevelt.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to thank to enigmatic forces that have helped propel the company my band and brand to the international level of excellence , first Ms Christina Sandsengen for taking our company from the ashes and bringing in a much needed overhaul in the department of quality and brand identity and excellence. Mr Pete Best ( Yes that ex-Beatle) & his brother Roag Best who helped my band , brand and company reputation get nee heights with their mentorship , community endorsement and worldwide opportunities from Liverpool and beyond.
