We had the good fortune of connecting with Lauren Tamayo and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lauren, what habits do you feel helped you succeed?
I attribute one of the most foundational and important habits that have helped me succeed is within my commitment to my daily mindset work. I chose to start my day with my morning routine which often times includes journaling, meditation, a walk, yoga, or reading my book. This supports me in feeling calm and grounded. I also believe in starting my day in a proactive way. Through my meditation or visualization practice, I spend a couple minutes connecting with my goal or vision that I have for myself, my day and business. As we live in an overly digital and connected world which is incredible and has it’s benefits, I find it really important to disconnect from being plugged in all the time so often times you can find me completely unplugged on the weekends for at least a day. This habit gives me the opportunity to again, reconnect to myself and I always feel more inspired, motivated and empowered when I do.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I’m an NLP Practitioner, Hypnotherapist and Mindset Coach focused on helping coaches and female entrepreneurs release the disempowering thoughts, beliefs and stories that are no longer serving them so that they can feel confident in the value that they have to offer and step into their fullest potential. What sets my coaching and work apart from others is that I not only focus on mindset but also the energy and action that it takes to manifest your desires. After I graduated from university, I booked a one-way ticket to Bali to start working online as I always knew that I would someday soon run my own business. I initially started designing websites and virtual assistance for other online entrepreneurs and small business owners, coaching wasn’t even something I knew existed. Once I was introduced to the world of coaching, I knew in an instant that this was my calling and what I was meant to do. I continued to follow my intuition and soon after launched my coaching business. I always dreamt about running my own business but I never knew what was to come or how much time and energy I would spend learning, implementing, testing and trying different things to see what worked for me and my business. I learned early on that having the support of and mentorship from a coach that has achieved what I wanted to also achieve was the best way in getting to where I wanted to be quicker. I also learned through working with various coaches and learning from other entrepreneurs, that what works for one person doesn’t necessarily mean that it will work for you. One of my biggest lessons has been in learning to trust my own intuition and give myself permission to do things my own way, rather than trying to stick to someone else strategy, framework or way of doing things. Through my story, work and business, I want others to know that they have everything within them to be successful in whatever they want to do in life and business. I truly believe that you can be, do and have anything you desire in life.
Any great local spots you’d like to shoutout?
If my best friend was visiting the area, I would take her to Venice. We would rent a cute little AirBnb somewhere near Abbot Kinney so that we could walk the nearby streets, shop and pop into all the different cafes and restaurants. I would take her through the Venice Canals and to the Santa Monica Pier. We would eat all the Mexican food that we could find.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to dedicate my shoutout to Reese Evans, the Founder of Yes Supply Method. Through her work and the coaching certification where she teaches and certifies coaches, influencers, entrepreneurs, leaders, and speakers to become NLP Practitioners, Life & Success Coaches, Hypnotherapists, TIME Techniques, and EFT Practitioners.
