We had the good fortune of connecting with Ace Cross Crook and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ace, as a parent, what do you feel is the most meaningful thing you’ve done for them?
Legacy over currency. I hope to have more people at my funeral than more money in my pocket. I hope to pass that mentality to my children. Of course, they will understand the importance of work ethic and I will teach them the value of a dollar, however, to instill the core values of being a friend to others and to spread love and kindness is the best type of wealth they will ever have to offer.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Social Media saved my life. Sounds crazy, right? We always hear “kids these days live on their phones, they never go outside and experience the real world”. Well, I disagree, social media made me realize the world is so much bigger, and that it was important to explore and capture moments in life to post and inspire others to do the same!
Let me explain. Before taking social media seriously, I was working 3-4 jobs consistently. My life felt like I was a gerbil on a wheel going nowhere. Even though I was auditioning and booking tv/film gigs, they were few and far between. My creative soul was not being filled.

One day a friend sent me a video from Instagram and said “this is so you”. From that video to the next, I found myself consuming new media content and saying, “you know what, I can do that”. I went from consuming to creating.

I drove to my nearest Best Buy and invested in a ‘creator kit’ from Canon. I began making relatable comedy videos for fun on Instagram and it became a way escape my life and to express myself. I I found myself looking for places to go and people to see to make content and thus leading me to spend my free time creating and exploring where I lived. I was thriving, I tell you.

There is no better feeling than the instant gratification of getting feedback the moment I post a video/photo. When I can put a smile on someones face, or inspire them to explore, or remind them of the beauty of life, I feel like I am fulfilling my purpose.

The moment the course of my life changed dramatically, was the day I decided to film myself walking down the aisle of a plane, lip syncing to the spice girls. Yes I did. I know, I can’t believe it either.

However, after that experience, I had a mom come up to me and thank me for helping her daughters anxiety with flying. So that immediately made my heart soar, but also I had these two gentlemen also approach me, The Parabros, and wanted to connect to help me become a Facebook creator.
Surely, I said yes and from there it was a snowball effect.

I met so many other creators at different Facebook events and one of which, his name is Joshua Sadowski. We instantly bonded and he told me to join Tiktok.

I was hesitant as this was a new platform, but I trusted his advice. I posted 4 videos and the fourth went viral.

I was hooked. Especially because I quickly realized what an amazing community Tiktok was. This was at the very early stages, as Tiktok had just evolved from Musically.

I grew quickly on that platform and I felt seen, I felt heard, I felt like I could finally share my message and make a positive impact I’ve been working so hard to do on Instagram.

My life has changed in the best way, and it’s because of the people who support me.

I don’t have “followers’, I have besties. We support each other.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I have just recently moved to LA from ATL. So, I am still exploring! However, one of my favorite pastimes is seeing bands play at local venues and I am looking forward to going to concerts again at the Roxy or the Fonda.
I also love California for its variety of scenery, whether is Joshua Tree, Big Bear, or Santa Monica beach, there is always something to do and so many amazing experiences to be had.
Lastly, I am a huge fan of Poke and Acai Bowls, so let me put you on to two of my favorite places – 8 oz Poke & Press Brothers. Mmhmm you’re welcome. 😉

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Every soul I have met on this journey thus far, whether they have encouraged me or discouraged me, helped me get to where I am today and I am truly thankful for that.
