We had the good fortune of connecting with Aja Whitten and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Aja, what are you inspired by?
In-spiration The experience of breath
I invite myself to Be it
To breath deeply of my own essence
Bring awareness of my heart
Beating in Time
With the flux
Of breath
Deeeeep inhale
As I expand in inspiration
Hold on to this fullness
Allow the pause to fill my cup
Until it feels as if my chest will explode
And as I surrender my breath to
This moment
My exhale releases the fear of ex-piration
Of the space created between
the world around me
I hold my breath out
allow it
To carry my finite nature
Into the Infinite
And i/I am

What should our readers know about your business?
My ability to blend the traditions of my lineage has enabled me to work with a diverse array of clients and conditions of dis-ease. It has been both a challenge and a strength to be an edge-walker who honors and weaves together multiple healing modalities. A session my call for breathwork, hot stone massage, a plant limpia or womb steam, and a guided meditation. It may ask the client perform om-work after perhaps in the form of a personalized at-home yoga sequence or ritual. I have leared to trust the messages that come through during client sessions as the body speaks in polyrhythms. Each of us is a multiplicity. I am able to offer many avenues and practices to those I have the honor of working with enabling them to explore what works best for them. A couple highlights of my interdisciplinary work include bondage yoga, dream journeying workshop series as well as connecting the cycles of personal growth with the cycles of nature through yoga and ritual at the inception of a local organic farm, Buena Vista Garden in Pomona Ca. I am currently developing a rites of passage program focused on passing down pan-indigenous healing arts. The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Shout outs to Akua and Ahmses Ma’at for leading the way as exemplaries of service to Divine Union and a return to ancestral ways.
