We had the good fortune of connecting with Alexandra Creteau and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Alexandra, what is the most important factor behind your success?
I think it’s hard work, good branding and dedication. I consistently have to create high-quality content. Having to come up with new ideas can create pressure when you have a creative block. At the same time, these ideas need to be executed well. They require a lot of time and effort, and even then sometimes not all content may be well-received by my followers. When your work or effort is neglected, you can become frustrated. This can especially happen if you spend hours at one time or days working on something. It is not only about me or my pictures it works for everyone and everything. If you are going to show something to the world, make sure you have a thick skin and be critiqued. You may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but remember that’s ok.
On top of creating content, I have to reach out to the brands, and negotiate deals with them and it can be time consuming or stressful. These are only a few aspects most don’t know about when it comes to being a social media influencer in the public eye.
As an actress I face a lot of adversity as well. If there was one thing that would lead to an actors improvement more than anything else, it would be overcoming their fears. It is our fears that hold us back from every element of great acting. I always try to push myself, work on challenging screenplays, and explore characters outside of my comfort zone.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My main platform on social media is Instagram. It started out as something fun and entertaining for me. Later on, it became a small business for me. This business grew, eventually becoming part of my personal brand. Brands have the option to reach out to me through direct message or email. I have worked with different brands such as: Old Navy, HENNESSY, Rimmel LONDON, Sally Hansens, Pure Protein, Oreo, Flat Tummy, Elli activewear, Built Ny and many others. I share content that is dedicated to inspire both women and men. I love that I can use my personal brand to inspire and motivate people to be better versions of themselves.
Brands will be more eager to work with you if you have a great connection with your audience. You should show your audience not only your beautiful content but your inner world as well. That is what makes you likable. I try to post as many Instagram stories as I can, so my followers can get to know me better. I have two Russian YOUTUBE channels and an English YouTube channel: Dalex Vlogs.
We are currently focusing on filming daily vlogs and couple’s videos with my fiance David Murrietta. Recently, I have had the inspiration and opportunity to create my own projects. This allows me creative freedom in different roles besides just acting, but those will have to be a surprise for now since they are still being filmed.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If I could take my friend anywhere, I would go somewhere warm. I love caribbean vacations! I hope when pandemic will be over, I will be able to travel more. I definitely would want to come back to Dominican Republic or Cozumel, Mexico. I would select all inclusive vacations. Jamaica is known as one of the best Caribbean vacation destinations for good reason — its beautiful beaches, delicious food, and relaxed atmosphere make it the perfect place to unwind.
I am also looking forward to our trip to Hawaii with David Murrietta in the nearest future.
I visited Madrid, Spain once and it was just “wow”. I Loved it there, beautiful city and delicious restaurants.
If we talking about California, I would go to Big Bear lake for the weekend or Laguna beach. Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
