We had the good fortune of connecting with Alexandra Russell and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Alexandra, career-wise, where do you want to be in the end?
My end goal is still not fully clear, because the future is never certain and I am still uncovering parts of myself and finding out what it is I was put here on Earth to do. However, I know I am designed to help others. My intention is to have a career that revolves around helping others remember who they truly are. Perhaps it will lean more toward mental health, because I have done so much work on my own regarding mental health. Perhaps it will be to awaken others to the truth of the world. I am not 100% certain yet, but I know I am designed to serve others and spread truth. At the moment, I am focusing on my writing career as an author. Perhaps I will become a well known author and be able to help guide others through my writings. Whatever it is I end up doing, I strive to be able to make a substantial income to support myself, and be able to live the life I have always dreamt of. Being my own boss, while serving humanity.

I am the author of my first psychological thriller/ horror/ self help novel called- The Maze: Her Rude Awakening
The Maze tells a story of Pearl, a young girl struggling with depression and suicidal thoughts, lost in the outskirts of her own mind. Driven into danger by the darkness within, she gets abducted by a deranged hypnotherapist who puts her under into this place known as The Maze. The Maze within Pearl’s mind is a place that demonstrates what it truly and physically feels like to go through depression and suicidal thoughts. Pearl must find her way out of The Maze alive, ultimately finding her truth within herself.
I have put my all into this novel and strive to shine light on the darkness that so many people face. I am not a professional by any means, considering this is my first novel and it is still in publishing. However, I am extremely confident in my story and believe it will get somewhere big if it gets into the right hands. I truly believe it is more than just a scary story, rather i am certain it will help so many people struggling with depression, those who have struggled with depression, and those who are/ have gone through an awakening journey within. I learned so many things about myself while creating this story. I uncovered so much darkness within myself that get truly rejuvenating to release from me and put into this book. I strive to uncover the darkness within us all and transmute that darkness into light. We are not a slave to the darkness, and we are not a slave to our thoughts. I hope I can help people see the truth.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I live on the sunny coast of Dana Point, California. To start, I would take them to my favorite breakfast place which is Proud Mary’s in the harbor. They have the best food and drinks. Afterwards, I would take them around the harbor and show them all the local restaurants and gift shops. I would take them to the point, maybe take them tide pooling. I would take them to Strands, Salt Creek, and maybe walk around Doheny for a while. Maybe in the evening we would go get some drinks at Turk’s or Hennesseys!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There are multiple people that deserve recognition with my story. For starters, my parents. My mom, Dad, and stepdad Neil. I wouldn’t be who I am today if it wasn’t for them. RIP to my dad. Another person would be my amazing boyfriend Nick. He has been my rock for 8 years, and he has given me love and support that I have never experienced before. Always pushing me to be the best version of myself.
I would also like to give credit to my hypnotherapist Choury. He has showed me the light during the darkest of times, has helped me peel back the layers from my onion, and has given me so many tools to connect to my Highest Self and the Higher Consciousness above.
My grandma Mimi has also been a big impact on my growth. She led me down the path of tuning inwards while I was in the midst of my darkest depression. I wouldn’t be who I am today without her, either.
