We had the good fortune of connecting with Amanda Meyer and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Amanda, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
Elia Parfum was born from asking myself a deeply honest question: “If I could do anything in life, what would it be and who could I help?” Right away, I knew deep down that I wanted to create a company that would benefit victims of human trafficking—a cause close to my heart. 10% from every sale is donated to A21—a 501(c)(3) global non- profit with 18 locations across 13 countries.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I started Elia Parfum as a way to give back. I had a calling to help victims of human trafficking. I wasn’t sure exactly how I was going to do this… until I sprayed my perfume one morning. Scent has the capability to lift you up, enlighten your mood, and boost your confidence. I was determined to create a scent that makes women feel their best, and donate 10% of the sale to human trafficking victims. Since we launched, less than a year ago, we’ve donated $12,500 to A21, a global non profit rescuing and restoring the lives of women and children victimized. I couldn’t be more thrilled to see what started as a feeling, became a reality. Creating a business is a challenge in itself, there will always be days you want to give-up, but deep down when you’re living your truth and purpose the desire to keep going always overcomes the desire to quit.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I live in Newport Beach which is one of the best vacation spots! My free time is always spent with friends, at the beach, or walking up and down Corona del Mar (CDM) with my golden retriever Biff. Fashion Island and South Coast Plaza have the best shopping in the world. Gulfstream, Bandera, and R&D are amongst my favorite restaurants in CDM. Laguna Beach is a short 10 minute drive South and home to the most beautiful beaches and fun nightlife. I love playing pool on a Friday night at Marine Room and dancing to live music.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to lift up my family, without their guidance and encouragement I wouldn’t be where I am today. My next big thank you is to my friends. I have such an awesome, loving, fearless group of people in my life and I’m so grateful for their loyalty.
