We had the good fortune of connecting with Amber Tilden and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Amber, what’s the end goal, career-wise?
My ultimate goal for my artistic career is to make my artwork live forever. My goal is to make people feel in their souls and to have empathy for the characters I create without any explanation. I have wanted to be an artist ever since I could hold a pencil. I never wanted to create in order to achieve a special status. I only wanted to be an artist because I could never NOT not be one. In a way, I feel like I have already achieved part of my goal, except for the fact that I am not done. I want to make my daughters proud and leave this legacy of achievement to them.
Please tell us more about your work. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today professionally.
I got to where I am today but not letting others control me and doing what I feel is right.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would always recommend visiting local Mom and Pop stores and along with street vendors to help the community thrive. Visiting Downtown LA is a must along with the Alleys and Olvera Street. And if you would like a beautiful birds-eye view of the city on a clear day, visit Griffith Park. Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would not be anywhere in my life to this point if I was not a Mother first. I do everything for my daughters, especially as a Woman. I dedicate my all to Lucille and Luxene. I also would not be the strongest Woman and striving artist without the support of my best friend, Jesse Blue.
