Hi Anastasia, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Starting my own business was never just about skincare. It was about creating freedom, purpose, and something meaningful for my family and community. I came to the United States from Ukraine in 2012 with my husband and our 10-month-old daughter. We arrived with very limited resources, no family support, and many uncertainties. Like many immigrants, I had to rebuild my life from the ground up while learning a new culture and language.
Before becoming a beauty professional, I worked as a nurse. Healthcare taught me the importance of caring for people, listening deeply, and treating the whole person, not just the symptoms. As I continued my journey in the beauty industry, I realized I wanted to create an experience that combined results-driven skincare with genuine human connection.For years, I worked for other businesses, but I always dreamed of building something of my own. I wanted to create a space where clients would feel seen, cared for, and confident in their own skin. That vision eventually became AnaFoxBeauty.
Starting my own business was a risk, but I believed that if I stayed committed to my values, continued learning, and genuinely cared about my clients, I could build something meaningful. Today, AnaFoxBeauty reflects my passion for clean luxury skincare, wellness, and helping people feel their best from the inside out.
Looking back, my decision was driven by faith, resilience, and a desire to create opportunities not only for myself but also for my daughters. I wanted them to see that no matter where you come from, with hard work, courage, and persistence, it is possible to build the life you envision.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
AnaFoxBeauty was built from a combination of passion, resilience, and a deep desire to help people feel confident in their own skin.
Before becoming an esthetician, I worked as a nurse, which taught me the importance of caring for people as individuals. I have now spent nearly 20 years in the beauty and skincare industry, and throughout that time I realized that skincare is about much more than appearance. When people feel confident in their skin, it can positively impact every area of their lives.
What sets AnaFoxBeauty apart is the personalized experience I provide. I combine my nursing background, advanced skincare knowledge, and holistic approach to create treatments that are tailored to each client’s unique needs. My goal is not only to improve skin health but also to create a space where clients feel cared for, relaxed, and empowered.
The journey has not always been easy. I immigrated to the United States from Ukraine and had to rebuild my life and career while raising children and adapting to a new country. There were many challenges, moments of uncertainty, and times when I questioned whether I should keep going. What helped me overcome those obstacles was remembering why I started: to create a better future for my family and to build something meaningful through my work.
One of the biggest lessons I have learned is that success does not happen overnight. It is built through consistency, perseverance, and a willingness to keep moving forward even when the results are not immediate. Every client, every challenge, and every step of the journey has taught me something valuable.
What I want people to know about my brand is that AnaFoxBeauty is more than a skincare studio. It is a reflection of my story, my values, and my commitment to helping people look and feel their best. If my journey inspires even one person to believe in themselves and pursue their dreams despite obstacles, then I consider that a success.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
One of the things I love most about Los Angeles is that there is something for everyone: beautiful beaches, incredible food, nature, culture, and endless opportunities to explore.
If my best friend were visiting, I would start with Malibu. We would have breakfast at Malibu Farm overlooking the ocean, spend time walking on the beach, and enjoy the relaxed California lifestyle. I also love exploring the scenic coastline and watching the sunset over the Pacific Ocean.
I would take them to The Getty Center for its stunning architecture, gardens, and incredible views of Los Angeles. Another favorite destination is Santa Monica, where we could enjoy the beach, walk along Ocean Avenue, and experience the vibrant energy of the city.
For a more peaceful experience, I enjoy spending time in nature, whether it’s hiking in the Santa Monica Mountains or visiting beautiful outdoor spaces throughout Los Angeles. I also love discovering charming local cafés and restaurants that bring people together and create a sense of community.
As a skincare professional and wellness enthusiast, I believe self-care is an important part of enjoying life. So of course, I would also invite my friend to experience a relaxing facial at AnaFoxBeauty and enjoy some much-needed time to recharge.
What I appreciate most about Los Angeles is its diversity. People from all over the world come here with dreams, creativity, and ambition. As an immigrant entrepreneur, that spirit of possibility is one of the reasons I am proud to call Los Angeles home.

I would like to dedicate this shoutout to my daughters and my clients.
My daughters have been my greatest source of inspiration and motivation. They remind me every day why I continue to work hard, grow, and build a better future. I hope they see through my journey that courage, resilience, and persistence matter more than perfect circumstances.
I would also like to thank my clients. Every person who trusted me with their skin, referred a friend, shared a kind review, or returned for another visit helped make AnaFoxBeauty what it is today. Their trust and support mean everything to me.
As an immigrant entrepreneur, there were many moments when I had to figure things out on my own. Building a business has taught me to believe in myself, keep learning, and continue moving forward even when the path is uncertain.
This journey is a reminder that success is built one step at a time, through hard work, genuine relationships, and a commitment to never giving up on your vision.
